Theo's POV:
I lost count on how many glasses of firewater I had actually gulped down my throat. But still, the void in my heart didn't get enclosed. I took the wine jar and poured everything that was in there into my goblet. I made sure that not even a single drop remained in the jar.
I carried the last glass of firewater to the veranda outside and eyed the silver moon goddess above me. She was shining bright like ever!
"What game are the fates playing with me, my lady," I said to her. "I did everything that I could to please her. I had to wait a thousand years for her just to hear that she hates me?"
"Theo," I heard a feminine voice call my name. Then a strawberry-blonde-haired girl appeared beside me and grabbed the goblet from my hand.
"Listen to me, Theo! Whatever happened right now is not your fault. Stop punishing yourself for that—"
"Amelia, give me my goblet back!"
