Purple Hyacinth

Wade

I'm sitting across from Korey watching her as she eats the last bit of her lunch. She seems to be in high spirits, which bothers me a lot because she just lost her child. Shouldn't she be angry, upset, or grieving? Everything tells me that it's going to be okay, she's going to be okay. But I don't believe it.

"I know you're worried about me," Korey says.

She picks up her coffee cup and takes a sip of her coffee.

"I am. You don't seem bothered about losing the baby."

She gives me a chuckle, "Wade, Persephone, and I have accepted the loss of our child. What do you want me to do? Throw myself against the wall."

I sigh, "No baby, I just. You're just acting so unbothered by it, it's worrying me."

Korey finishes her cup of coffee, and she teleports her dishes to the sink. She looks down at the table and sighs.

"All I want to do is find my baby's soul, so we can bury her, and we can all leave in peace and move on, Wade,"
