Chapter 13: "I'm fine."

Rebekah squeaks her body folding without her realizing it, balancing on her heels her elbows pressed to her thighs while holding her face. Vor said nothing but moved with her dropping to her knees to pull Rebekah into her embrace. Rebekah focused on breathing through the jagged hole in her chest. Vor’s words whispering in her mind “He’s gone. He left.” She wanted to lash out, she wanted to hit, bite scratch, and scream, anything to get this feeling out. Instead, she just stared at the floor gripping Vor’s forearms thinking of how worried she had been for them. Her pack but they came back before Eerikki had even started piecing back together. Vor had already changed the Eerikki’s pack perspective, which Rebekah hated she had to do. Because every time she changes someone’s memory it changes one of hers. And she never knew which one.

Before Rebekah had been able to ask what was happening Vor said those words. “He’s gone. He left.”
