Girl Next Door 1

There's nice hot and then there's HOT...the kind of hot that makes you wish you lived in Antarctica.

That was my current situation as I laid on my bed in the middle of a brutal Texas summer day. The fan in my room actually seemed to be blowing warm air making me groan in frustration.

No one was home and both cars were gone at the moment, ruining my idea to drive over to the fro-yo place in town. I wiped some stray hair from my forehead, tucking it back under my bandana as I jogged down the stairs hoping there was still some ice cream in the freezer.

I passed the big window showing the view of our backyard and paused. I had forgotten about the lounge chair that sat comfortably in the only shaded area. Bingo I thought, grabbing a magazine and some sorbet.

Mmm, I said out loud, stretching comfortably on the chair. It was still hot but at least the sun wouldn't fry me alive. After a little while of relaxing, I decided a cool off other than my frozen treat would be necessary.
