HitchHikers [Taboo]

"I'm starting to think we're lost" Alex stated for the 10th time this past hour.

I sighed, shielding my eyes with my hand as I looked around the seemingly endless stretch of road before us. It was a wickedly hot Texas day and the lack of trees and supplies was really starting to wear us down.

"Would you say something, Jess?"

"Okay fine, we may be lost! Is that what you want to hear because I thought that was pretty obvious at this point."

Alex groaned and grabbed a half-empty bottle of water from her backpack. "I knew we shouldn't have listened to those fucking tools."

I nodded solemnly in agreement and plopped down on the side of the road, wondering what the hell we were going to do. Alex and I were looking for a gas station that these guys we had met told us was only a quarter-mile straight down. 4 miles passed and we were still wandering down the same road.

Not a single car had passed us for the nearly 2 hours we'd been walking and it was starting to get late.
