Picked up by Truckers

I rolled over on my side, slowly opening my eyes to adjust to the sunlight.

Yawning, I grabbed my glasses off the night stand and peered at my alarm clock. 7:20

Shit! I overslept and had to be at school in 20 minutes! I flew out of bed and quickly threw on clothes and used the bathroom in lightning speed. I ran to the window in the front to see if by some miracle Bobby Jo, my only ride to school, was still here.

His car was gone and I felt my stomach drop. I can't believe the asshole couldn't at least wake me up! Now I'd have to walk to school and end up being late.

I threw a random tupperware of leftover food into my backpack and ran out the door, cursing myself and Bobby Jo as I made my way down the road.

I shaded my eyes, keeping an eye out for a spare bike or anything I could use to get there faster. The sun was relentless already and dressed hastily in a long sleeved shirt and pants, I felt like my body was on fire.
