7 colossal pillars stood in a dim strange space, arranged to face one another. Behind every pillar was an even more giant figure cloaked in a shroud that hid their faces.
These Giants argued amongst one another while the cause of their argument thought up a plan.
[Why do you hesitate?] He suddenly heard a familiar monotone voice.
‘System, You’re here?’ He asked
[Of course, I am. Why do you hesitate.]
‘To use The Word?’
[No, to use The Sentence. Of course, to use The Word.]
‘…’
[Don’t tell me… Are you scared?] The system asked.
‘… That power it’s’
[Overbearing.]
‘… Yes.’
[… Vincent, it doesn’t matter how powerful it is, what matters is how you use it.]
‘What if I misuse it?’
[As long as you remember your goals.]
[Survive]
[Strength]
[And reach the Heavens.]
[Then you can’t misuse it.]
[So, stop being a wuss and show these prideful bastards the might of Vincent.]
‘Alright!’ Vincent replied, fired up.
After the conversation with the System, Vincent turned his focus back to the Giants who still argue amongst themselves. That was until his companion silenced them.
[Please shut up]
The monotone robotic-like voice rang out; it was neither powerful nor weak. Even so, it was enough to end the banter.
Confused, the Giants surveyed around them until they settled on Vincent who didn't care about their gazes on him.
Although their faces were not seen, their stares were obviously to be on the unassuming man before them. Vincent looked at the Giant in front of him, although it felt like he was looking at all of them
''Have you finished?'' He asked without a care in the world.
This simple question triggered the instincts of the Giants. It also brought upon a wave of coldness that disappeared right after. Whether it was illusionary or real was unknown to those who felt the cold wave pass through.
Vincent turned his head to look at all the giants then focused on the one before the pillar of ice, ''I guess I can start now.”
''My name is Vincent Cadmean… And I’m here to take your powers''
Standing tall and slender with fair skin, his elbow-length, shiny, black hair let loose behind him. Vincent looked at the giants in front of him with no emotion and held deep hazel eyes.
The change in his aura from caution to courage made the giant's vision of his sudden mysteriousness even more elaborate.
''I want your power to be mine'' Vincent repeated firmer.
The courage and pride in Vincent’s voice made the Giant behind the pillar of ice snap out of the trance that she was in. Her enormous pride wouldn't allow her to accept another trying to dominate her.
Because of this, she lashed out at Vincent by sending forward a blue slash that contained the element of ice within it. As it moved through the space it cut open the fabrics of space and froze it at the same time.
The attack crossed the space between them at a moderate speed Vincent could follow but not dodge. She did this on purpose to allow Vincent to know how he died.
She wanted to see his face filled with fear to allow him to at least speak a word of Anguish before dying. But, this was her mistake. If she had attacked at her normal teleportation-like speed she could have avoided her doom.
Although Vincent couldn’t physically react to the attack. He was however mentally faster.
AN: Thanks to the mental boost from the Eidetic Library of Knowing.
Because of this, the following set of actions was easy for him.
Vincent called upon the familiar feeling from the past times he had used the ability. His ether immediately responded and it began to gather around him.
The massive dip in his Ether Pool almost shook his concentration but with the help of The Fruit of Eden and Yggdrasil. His dip stabilized and lessened from what it should have been.
Seconds away from the attack hitting him, the skill was ready
''[Stop]'' His monotone voice rang out with an echo.
The feeling of surprise filled the mind of the Giants especially the attacker when the slash of ice stopped in response, suspended mid-air, defying gravity. Nonetheless, she recovered right away and put more of her energy into the attack in an attempt to force it through. It was in vain.
Now, the other giants with small delays took Vincent as an unknown threat. The unassuming man had now become a wolf.
However, being 'Almost quick to respond' was a disadvantage as that small time frame of delay was enough for the wolf to attack again.
''[Re-Write]''
With this word, All the giants ceased to move. Their arms fell to their side, their energy pool calm, and their eyes devoid of a sense of self and awareness.
Vincent took a bit of joy in the quick defeat of such monstrous beings. But, he was not allowed to dive too deep into his achievement as he could feel his Ether Pool almost bottoming out.
Even with the leeway by both the Fruit of Eden and Yggdrasil they could only do so much.
On instinct, He could feel Yggdrasil trying its best to keep him up and running and felt grateful. It seemed that Yggdrasil could feel it as it tried even harder to extend the skill period.
Vincent once again focused on the Giants and began executing his plan.
'[Re-Write], with this I am going to make them my slave.’
'One more command.’
''[Become my servant, Love me, adore me, Follow me as your eternal master, My orders are absolute and to not be questioned.]''Vincent ordered and proclaimed.
The [Re-Write] process began. One by one the giants fell on their knees and bowed to Vincent until it remained the ice giant. Her enormous pride fought against this command but who is she before absolute power. She too fell on her knees and bowed.
And together they swore servitude towards him
''We the sect masters and founding elders of the Order of Divine Elements swear our allegiance to the great master until death do us part!'' They said in unison.
Vincent smiled at this and replied in a powerful tone imitating a ruler, 'You may stand.''
