"Demon!?" The Arch-Angels shouted together in surprise.
In an instant, Gabriel and Raphael dashed out of the room. "Wait!" Uriel tried to stop them, but he wasn't fast enough. They flew out of the room, and Uriel and Azazel chased after them. Even though the angel sisters were ahead of them, Uriel and Azazel knew where they were heading: [Yggdrasil Variant: Elohim's Horse], also known as [Heaven's Gate].
Gabriel and Raphael zoomed through the skies at absurd speeds, breaking the sound barrier multiple times. Hundreds of emotions, thoughts, and grim memories flashed through their minds, but it all revolved around one primordial thought and emotion in general: Gabriel, "I will kill this demon!" Raphael, "I will kill this demon!" Rage: pure, raw, and unquenchable rage. The amount of anger in them was so high that they would have fallen if not for Azazel's tweak.
Seeing that demon brought back unpleasant memories. To give themselves the slightest feeling of comfort, closure, and relief, they had to kill that demon.
Gabriel and Raphael soon arrived at a towering gate made out of all jewelry and earthly minerals known to man: gold, diamond, silver, bronze, limestone, ruby, sapphire, emerald, mithril, gem-steel, etc. All of them were encompassed into the gate. It was made this way to represent the leaving behind of mortal desires and earthly riches.
Looking at the gate, Raphael and Gabriel were even more vexed. They approached the gate with a location in mind, intent on going there. But as they were about to enter, it shut itself. The gates of heaven, for the second time in history, shut itself.
Raphael and Gabriel were confused for a moment. Within that period, Azazel and Uriel caught up. Azazel and Uriel landed before them and began to ask them questions. They too were confused about the gate closing. "What happened to heaven's gate?" Uriel asked. "Why is it shut?" "What did you do?" Uriel bombarded his sisters with these questions.
"I don't know," they answered. This answer made Uriel quite furious to the extent of reprimanding them, but Azazel stopped him. "Give them a break, would ya," Azazel sighed as he interrupted Uriel. "Why should I? They broke heaven's gate," Uriel flared up, looking at Azazel with anger. "Because they didn't."
"Eh!? Who did?" Azazel then pointed to the sky. Uriel's eyes widened as he realized, "System."
"Yeah, it should be the only thing apart from that old man that can control the gates of heaven." Uriel facepalmed at his irrational actions and apologized to his sisters. Thereafter, he turned to the sky, "System, what is the meaning of this? Why did you close heaven's gate? Don't you know you have stopped all dead souls from entering with this."
[Yes, I am aware of that.]
"Then!"
[But it is for a necessary cause.]
[Arch-angel Raphael and arch-angel Gabriel were about to interfere with the successor directly. Hence the reason for my needed interference.]
"We did it because demons are involved, the successor's life is in danger," Gabriel retorted with obvious concern in her tone. She couldn't let another thing that she cared for perish.
"Also, you were the one that said we could intervene if he interacts with threats beyond what he can handle," Raphael added.
[But so far, he hasn't interacted with any. Has he?]
''What do you mean by that!''
[I have determined that the demon won't directly interfere with the successor, due to wanting to not get exposed and risk retaliation. Hence, it'll at most try to sabotage the successor indirectly by creating obstacles for him.]
''Still!’' Gabriel insisted
[I have also determined that the obstacles would serve as a good stepping stone for the successor. It would push him and fuel his drive to become stronger.]
''What if he can't handle the obstacles'' Raphael asked
''Then we'll be allowed to intervene'' Azazel replied
[Strong One of The Creator]
''System'' Azazel acknowledged.
''Let's get down to the point, shall we system. We won't interfere and kill the demon right now.”
“What!” Gabriel voiced out her discontent.
Azazel continued regardless, “And in return, you'll allow us to use the [Mirror of Worldly Omniscience] to view the successor at all times. After all, how can we intervene when needed if we can’t even see him.”
“Also you won't reset the angels to their former makings''
[…]
[What makes you think that I’ll allow that, I have the upper hand here. After all, you won't stand by and watch as all souls float aimlessly in [Judgment]]
''And you would?'' Azazel starkly replied
[…]
''And also understand this System. Before heaven came to be it was once just a spiritual land. I can simply create another'' He said with a shrug
[It won't be like heaven.]
“But it would do”
[…]
''Just be a dear and let's make a deal'' Azazel said, a smug smile plastered on his face
…][
[Deal]
''Good''
Azazel then turned to his siblings, his smile morphing into a serious look, ''Come on now, Let's go''
''Bu~'' Gabriel tried to say.
''Let's go!''
Azazel took off into the air, With Uriel following after. Raphael and Gabriel looked for a while and begrudgingly followed after.
/////Free Vern Forest; Nightfall///// [AN: Forgot to name the forest.]
Vincent let out a sigh in relief, ''That dark beast was such a hassle''
''So, it was the reason why one of the carriages hadn't reported back to the town''
“I wondered how it was able to power again. Do all dark beasts act like that system? Never truly dieing when killed.”
[AN: Was that a reference?]
[Ask the [Akashic]
“Why should I do that? It may be just a side effect of rage mode.”
[Suit yourself then]
''Tch, useless''
'How much further until the capital, [Map]’
A familiar Holographic Map appeared in front of Vincent,
'Well according to the [Map], I should be right… there'
On cue, Vincent was greeted by the sights of a majestic capital, even though it was night Vincent was still able to appreciate the beauty of the capital due to the lights illuminating the city.
'Finally,' he rejoiced in his mind.
Vincent dashed towards the gates of the capital and reduced his speed as he got there so that the guards would not be wary of him.
Reaching the Gate, Vincent was directed to a verification man who looked very familiar to the one at the former city.
[AN: Canon Fodder logic]
“Identification?” He asked
The verification soon passed and Vincent was allowed into the city.
“Excuse me. I’m new to the city. Can you point me to the nearest inn?” He said with a harmless smile.
After he got the directions, He headed towards an inn the guard pointed him to. Vincent journeyed the almost empty streets of the city and reached the Inn.
“Rose Hill Inn”
The Inn was a two-story stone-walled building, with a red-tile roof. In the city, the Inn was a fairly good one with an affordable price and just the right amount of comfort for such prices.
Vincent entered the Inn and approached the Innkeeper, an average height female named Kira. ''Good evening, Can I get a room for a week''
''That's 70 silvers plus feeding fee''
“70 huh. I need to learn this worlds conversion rate”
''Ok''
Vincent took out 70 Silvers from his storage ring and paid. As he gave it to her, he noticed something peculiar about her hair. It was brown and styled in a unique pony-style way.
[AN: Styled to the front.]
Seeing the hair Vincent sighed and thought inwardly, 'Another innocent one lost'
[Weeb] The system commented.
“Thank you,” Kira said as she took the payment, she then reached in below the desk and took out a key which she gave to him. “Second floor, room 666.”
[AN: Muhaha.]
Vincent took the key and thanked her. He then retreated to his room.
It had a two-person bed, a dresser, some chairs, A decent window facing the city creating a nice view, and a good bathroom.
Vincent lay on the bed and could feel himself drifting off to sleep. when suddenly a message flashed through his head.
‘Find me.’ He heard a whisper
‘Huh?’
‘Find me.’ He heard again
All of a sudden, The image of a place entered his mind with some pieces of information.
‘This…’
Moments later, The image dissipated and his aching calmed down. Now he was able to read through what he received.
“[Treasure of Elohim]! It's here. System what just happened”
[The [Treasure of Elohim] recognized you as its master and reached out to you. Normally, the moment you entered the city it would have burst out of and approached you but something seems to be stopping it. Instead, it's calling you to come to meet it and take it as your own.]
'A [Treasure of Elohim] contacted me like this. Is it because of [The Word]? I need to investigate more
“System open akashic'
[Ok]
[Contacting Akashic
Contact Successful
Attempting Connection
…
…
…
Connection Successful and Stabilized]
[Please close your eyes and do not open them until disconnection from Akashic]
Vincent listened to the warning and closed his eyes, relishing in the euphoric feeling of contacting the Akashic once more.
[You may ask your question now]
“Ok”
''What is the best way to acquire the Treasure of Elohim closest to me''
In an instant, the Information flashed through Vincent's mind. His face changed from horror then sorrow and finally acceptance.
''Sigh, [System] cut the connection''
[Ok]
The Akashic withdrew from the mortal plane and Vincent was able to open his eyes again.
[You know what to do]
''Fortunately, and unfortunately, Yes''
‘I thought that I had already escaped this, but I guess not.'
''Sigh, Problems I don't need''
That night Vincent had dreams of the dreaded enemy of all younglings… School. That was how Vincent spent his first night in the majestic city [Aemplefort].
