CHAPTER 29

I watched Jason putting on his suit. I rolled my eyes.

“Really, Jace? A suit? You do realise we are having a breakfast in my home, right?”

“Yes, I know. Your mom will be there.”

“And you know that I am wearing my ‘Finding Nemo’ pyjamas, right?”

“Yes, I know. Your mom will be there.”

I had a feeling his brain cells were dead because that was all he was saying for past 2 hours. Yes, two freaking hours.

Jason came home last night. It was pretty late and he looked like walking-dead. He could not meet mom because she had already retired to her bed by then.

I thought Jason being here would help me sleep. Nope.

I woke up panting and covered in sweat. I had no idea what I dreamt about but it was scary.

I did not feel like sleeping again. So I helped Penelope with breakfast. I cooked up a storm. From French Toast to cinnamon buns to pancakes... I wanted something to occupy my mind other than ‘him’.
