CHAPTER 34

I was hiding.

I groaned.

I was in pain. I was in need. I was in hell.

I did not want to be away from him.

But that was how it was supposed to be.

His wife was here. So was his mother-in-law.

My Aunt Marie. She showed her face to everyone, gave me a big kiss on cheek, a hand sewn sweater and left. She was not doing well but there was nothing we could do.

Robbie and I needed to stop what we were doing because...it was wrong but...

I was hiding because Robbie went from ‘I have never seen you before in my life’ to ‘you are the only thing I can see’ real fast.

I was hiding because we almost had sex in the kitchen storage room.

On the day of party nonetheless, with delegated guests, various ministers, corporate tycoons, media personalities, friends, relatives but we could not see anyone else but ourselves.
