You smell good

Jamal? Myla messages

Mm he responds

She creases her forehead. Why does he sound cold?

Are you ok?

Yeah?

She thinks of taking back her words of calling him for the party but he sends immediately after.

I'm sorry I was in the bathroom

Okay . . . hope you took your time?

If I didn't I wouldn't have to speak for Seri to spell out for me.

Oh—awkward smile tag—

What's up? Anything new? He knows that she's calling to inform him about how progressive their music is going.

Yes! I don't know if you checked your pages, but mine blew up my phone: 300K followers overnight. It was a miracle.

I did. It was indeed.

There is silence and they both start typing in synchrony

Will you mind an outing tonight?

Will you mind a party tonight at my place?

Myla is staring at his message and he is staring at hers.

Someone had plans uh? his message comes in and she reddens, her friends next to her, watching as she burns her cheeks.

Yep. Did you schedule on taking me somewhere?

No. I just came up with it. But since you have plans at your place then we shouldn't bother about the outing.

Tiffy and Brehida frown. They want to go where he want them to go.

"What?" she questions them

"You should say yes. Accept his proposal. It'd be more fun" Brehilda is agitated

Tiffy says "Yeah. Listen to her. You can't miss this"

She rolls her eyes.

What about we change plans. You take us to where you want and some other day we could do it here? My friends say an outing will be more fun.

Perfect! I'd pick you guys up. Just get prepared. I'm punctual

—Corner look tag—

I can't see that girl. Don't have a headache. And I'm serious. I'd be there soon.

She chortles and her friends run to get changed while she goes to do the same.

...

"Have you ever been here?" Jamal interrogates

"I have" Tiffy responds

"He's talking to me" Myla says

"How do you that? He didn't call names"

Jamal smiles as the girls ramble. They find a table and settle there while Jamal leaves to pay tickets.

"I can't understand what's going on with Eliz. She's not telling us what her appointments are." Brehilda is acting sadistic, while she sits.

"I've been fishing on the same thing. Don't you think she's having some trouble and doesn't want to bore us?" Myla mutters

Tiffy contributes "I'd say the same. Certainly, she's waiting for a special moment to inform us about this—thing she does always"

Brehilda shrugs and they close the matter when Jamal comes forth.

"We'd get in this way. Here's for everyone" he gives everybody's ticket but not Myla's

She looks at him perplexed. He smirks and shows up a ticket "This is for two. They aren't enough, because we came late, but no worries. Our seats are reserved"

Myla nods and the girls pinch themselves, while staring at the liker birds.

...

"The movie starts in 3.2.1" someone announces and the lights go off.

"I forgot telling you. You look amazing" Jamal settles and she does the same next to him

"Thanks—No thanks I meant"

He grins in the dark; eyes ogling her in the dark as the movie plays. She is so peaceful.

"I love the start of it already" she comments, eyes brightening from the flash of light on the show.

Jamal says nothing as he peeps at her, admiring her being herself. That little innocent self in her and how oblivious she is about his liking to her. She's so focused. Like she would kill someone if she gets distracted.

As time passes she becomes livelier.

"Gosh. He must be sad that she left" her face showcasing sympathy for the actor.

"But he should go after her. Love doesn't give up" another comment crosses her mind and she says it out loud. She sinks in her seat and gawks Jamal for the first time since the movie begun.

Jamal doesn't stare away. He lets her fill his heart, which gets swollen each time they make eye contact. It's black out here so no one sees the need to be timid.

He impulsively touches her hand over the hand chair and she flops. Like being shocked by electricity.

He chuckles and she giggles, bringing her gaze back to the cinema. Mentally, she questions herself. What in God's name was that?

Minutes later

She is holding unto Jamal's hand like a pillow. No matter how tight she grips, her hands will always feel fluffy for him. Like massaging dough.

"No. Let nothing happen to her. They shouldn't pull the trigger before he comes to safe her"

Jamal is amazed. He loves seeing her this way and he can pay any amount to make her this joyous.

He opens his hand to let it swallow hers. Their hands now intertwined. She is still not conscious, until he brings her hand to his head, sniffing and his lips almost brushing over it.

She ices, turning to face him slowly and he confesses, "You smell good"

Her smile widens and her cheeks become a tad rosy. She knows he can't see her through the dark so she doesn't look away.

At least he is white so she can see his dark hair, falling at the corner of his forehead, his bright eyes, breath-taking smirk.

"You smell good too. Your colon is the only scent I get from this room", She mutters, gently and lowly.

"That's gross exaggeration" he answers, his voice husky.

"You won't accept because it's yours. But I know what I'm saying"

She refocuses at the movie protraction "What will you do to safe this lady if you were him"

"I don't know" he replies honestly

She cranes her eyebrows. "You don't know how you'd safe the love of your life?"

"Yes, because we're not in the same position. I can't just imagine myself in his story. The way I'd react towards a girl will depend on my love her. It's a neurogenic response, if you can better understand it that way."

She chortles, "I understand any. Did you study science?"

"Yep. Though I dropped biology to start up with my engineering dreams at high school. That's why I deal with car production and sails"

She is astonished. Her mouth can't form any words. Just Wow!

"You don't look like an engineer. You know the way physicians always look . . . like they'd soon have a mental break down."

They laugh as they keep their focus ahead.
