"Oh. The rain seems to have scheduled you here for a night" Tiffy says and he scratches his head.
"Don't worry. We have a room for you upstairs. Close to Myla's" Brehilda tells and Myla doesn't get why she pinpoints her last sentence.
She feels sleepy and cold. She turns to Jamal and he darts his eyes to her "Come. I'd show you where to sleep"
She walks to the stairs and he follows behind. They arrive his room and she opens it, spreading her arm to the side for him to talk in.
He steps in and her phone buzzes. She looks at it, seeing messages from Patricia.
I'm so happy for you. I saw the music you and my brother released. I'm super excited.
You know this could be a beautiful chance for you to start up your videos with him, just a suggestion.
Girl where are you? I have something to tell you. Jamal separated with Latif. The marriage won't hold any longer.
She looks up at Jamal and he's already staring at her, discovering her change of expression.
"Y—you . . . cancelled your marriage?"
He walks closer to her and peeks at her phone. He curses inwardly. He didn't want her to know now.
"Yeah . . ."
"Why?"
"I've never loved her"
Myla is speechless as he walks over and settles on the bed. "How do you know you love someone?" she settles next to him.
"I don't know is how I know. Because you'd never really know when you love someone."
"I don't get it. How will you confess your feeling for someone if you don't know you that person?"
"I have no idea. That was a movie line from tonight" he looks at her and she blinks her eyes, realization dawning over her.
"Oh. I forgot so fast"
"I wouldn't blame you. You had something else on your mind"
She looks away, the fresh memories of today coming to her mind.
"You know—I thought about your proposal" he tries to distract her.
She lifts her head and he grins "And?" she stares anxiously
"I'm in."
She tugs him into her arms "Thank you so much" she had already forgotten about it.
"Gratitude unaccepted"
Slowly, he encircles his hand over her waist and she flops, but doesn't get out of the embrace. But he says "Maybe we could stay this way for the rest of the night"
She pulls back, staring at him with wide eyes.
"That was another story line" he doesn't know what got into him. How could he remember these words when the whole time he kept gawking her?
She sighs, feeling a little embarrassed.
"I-uh, need to sleep. I'm really tired. In case you want to take a bath, I'd bring for you other necessities expect cloths"
He nods and watches her exit his room.
...
Myla takes her bath forgetting to give Jamal what he needed. Once she is done, she rushes to his room.
She steps in living the door open and he is not in bed or anywhere around. She deems he must be in the bathroom. She places his things on the bed and yell "Jamal!"
"You didn't want to come back?" he answers from the close door.
"I'm sorry. I completely forgot. I'm just really tired"
"You forgot about me uh?"
"Not like that . . . I mean—never mind"
He chortles and she adds, "I should leave. Goodnight"
"Don't leave yet. I can't get out. So, you'd pass them to me when I'm done"
She freezes, responding "Ok"
She squats on the bed lazily, her eyes becoming heavy. She blinks several times trying to control the urge of falling asleep.
But within a blink of an eye, after being idle and more to that the rain outside makes her heavy and sluggish. She falls on the white sheet of the bed, her eyes shutting into darkness.
Jamal calls and calls but get no responds. So he assumes she must've left. He walks out half naked, just his boxer on.
He pauses after seeing her on his bed. His door is wide open so he walks up to close it but remembers that he needs to get her up first.
He puts on his trousers and a shirt. He stoops down, about to tap her when she grips his arm forcing him to lye next to her.
He chuckles and brushes his hand over her hair over and she hums in her sleep. He smiles but it vanishes when Tiffy comes in view.
She is astonished. He mouths, "Should I wake her up?"
She shakes her head "She hates it. Just sleep next to her. It'd be perfect"
He lifts his fonts, understandingly. "Can you please—lock the door?"
"Sure" she does gently and giggles behind the door, running downstairs to report to her housemate.
Jamal is a little frustrated. Myla's position is not healthy. He struggles to make her lye straight as he carries her in a bridal style.
She feels extremely cold and Jamal's proximity is radiating warmth. She imagines him as her pillow because she has so many on her bed, and will always hug them, especially in a time like this.
She holds him again, pulling his shirt and Jamal shrugs, not knowing how to respond. He gives up and settles next to her.
She shifts and lays her head over his crate. It takes him time to tug her into him, as he slowly positions his hand over her waist.
This is the best moment of his life. Being this close to her, and watching her sleep. Her grasp on him becomes firm. And he can't help but smile until he joins her in her dream. His secret wish finally realized.
...
Myla feels her hand against something hard. She frowns in her sleep. What's she holding? Did her pillow transform over night?
Gently she squints open her eyes to find Jamal below her and she is tugged into him. She shines her eyes, opening them broadly.
He wakes up impulsively and finds her staring under the sunrays through the window, as the curtains space out.
"How did I get here?"
He smirks "You fell asleep here and you pressured me to sleep next to you"
She can't believe she did that. Her eyebrows crease in befuddlement.
"Did you record it?"
"No?"
"Then what is your prove?"
"You are right here in my arms, holding me like—your comfy. Isn't this enough prove?"
She jerks her hands off immediately. She has never tugged an opposite like this. She gets down the bed and notices dawn everywhere. She needs to go to her room and take her bath.
But—what about Jamal? He has no cloths. She turns to look at him and he's staring back as if he knows she has something to say.
"Will you return home then come back to pick me up?"
"Nope" he answers plainly.
"Why?" her forehead creased
"Because—I won't have to. When you're done, we'd pass by the mal to collect myself a new worth drop."
Shocked "New worth drop? Will that be necessary?"
"I'm not gathering an entire mal Myla. Just two new wares"
