They used me

Everyone left. Myla wished her parents or sibling stayed over night but everyone has something to do. And she understands that.

She is left just her and her friends.

"Should we continue this party somewhere else?" Brehilda suggests

"Nope. I'm really not in the mood" she responds which is one thing. But the main reason is 'cause she has a different mindset about parties and her friends would go seven head miles to make her drink her ass out.

She must avoid such by all cost. That's not her genre. They all pick things and try to clear the house. No one wants to work very early in the morning. Its better they end the work now and tomorrow comes with its own.

Hopefully she won't have to chop her mind over what Jamal did. She has so many things to think of and those things have always caught her busy all. She just needs to be determined and focus.

They get everything settled in its position, everywhere tidy and neat. Suddenly Myla receives a call. She looks at it and the Id is unknown.

She becomes reluctant to pick while her friends wait for her agitatedly.

She closes her eyes, breaking her rules of not answering an unknown call.

"Myla, it's Eliz's mom. Come quick, your friend is in need of your presence"

Panic rushes through her veins as her heart skips, almost making her pass out. She can't develop words as she stunts "What's going on? W-where is she?"

"At the hospital. Steven's" she knows this place but will she be able to get in there without being recognize. She needs to disguise.

"I'd be right there" she assures and the woman nods over the phone. Myla ends the call impatient.

"What's going on?" Her friends, question in synchrony.

"Eliz has been admitted in the hospital. Her mom just called. I don't know what's wrong. I need to go in other to find out" She gestures to leave their midst.

"We'd come with you" Tiffy utters.

"We can't come all at once. We don't want people gossiping about her health. We know we're no longer ordinary people"

They nod and she disappears in the corridors.

...

"That's impossible!" Jamal roars.

His mom is frustrated as well. "I warned you to stay away from that girl"

He robs his face over "Mom, this is not about her"

"The girl in question is her friend; She was manipulated by Myla. That's why she got you distracted in other for her to accomplish her mission."

"And who told you all of these?" he scrunches his eyebrows deeply.

"I assigned experts to handle the case. The found her hand print over your computer"

Jamal shakes his head, unbelievably "How did they do a match? Have you started going out, doing things behind my back?"

"Jamal, calm down. I'm your mother. And the person you should scold here is that girl and her useless friend Myla"

"You've not answered my question. How did you carry out a goddamn match?"

"I met a personal inspector and he gave me every detail"

Jamal's heart feels like a balloon. It'd soon burst out if not taking care of diligently. He holds his chest, his heart bouncing faster over his ribs and threatening to come out.

"You know what, I need to be alone" he demands and she doesn't argue. She knows her son too well. If he says this then he needs it. She springs up from the couch.

"I'd reserved a professional lawyer for you. If you need anything, I'd be there" she mentions before leaving.

As soon as she exits, he punches the wall he was facing until it breaks. "Fuck!" he curses at the feeling emanating through him, a feeling of rage. It's been years he felt this way.

Everything he worked for is on the verge of crumbling over him. This weight is too heavy for him to carry. He doesn't know what else to believe about whatsoever.

...

"Eliz" Myla kneels looking at her friend in bed while her mom is on her left side, weeping.

"Is that you?" Eliz struggles to speak, her voice very inaudible as she looks at the disguised lady by her side.

"Yeah, I had to do this in other not to create tension amongst people. What's wrong with you? How can you keep such a thing from us?" Myla's eyes are dammed with tears.

"I'm s-sorry . . . I didn't want—to stress you out. I needed money and I used the wrong way to get—"

"Eliz, I forgive you for what happened. Listen, you must fight. That's all we need from you right now"

"It's—to late. I-I can't. I need to tell you something—"

She cuts in again "You can Eliz. I know you can. Just hold tight and pray"

She chuckles "God won't listen to me. I'm not worthy to talk to him"

"Me neither. No one is perfect Eliz. He's going to listen to whatever thing you want to say. He's a silent listener and too lovely to despise you no matter what it is"

She shakes her head. "You don't understand . . . I did something really terrible. To you and everyone. You need to listen—to me first. I don't have much time"

"You don't have to tell me anything. I completely understand that you're guilty about last time—"

She cuts in "It's more. It's not about that. It's—about J-"

Her words don't come out clear as Myla tries to stress her neck. "Stop trying to speak. You need this energy. Just relax. I'd call the doctor for you"

"Myla please stay. I don't need the doctor. All I really need is to tell you the truth. I caused you harm. I know—how important Jamal is to you and I thought you broke up his relation with his fiancée in other that you could have him."

Myla is flabbergasted "W-what? I'd never do that. I care for him so much."

"Yea-h I know. I just didn't see it that way. I was deceived. And now I know—he was right leaving her. She-is not—a good woman"

Myla baths her thick lashes "You can't really say that. Maybe he just don't love her"

"Listen to me Myla. Jamal needs you. You need to stay strong and always remember that he cares for you. Don't give up on him. Ever"

Her heart starts beeping faster and Eliz's mom rushes to call the doctor.

"Eliz. Eliz, plea-se, d-don't leave us." Myla is stammering.

"I'm truly sorry"

"Why do you keep saying this? You did nothing"

"They-trapped—you. They used me"

Myla blinks her eyes and her mind reflects on the still voice she heard talking to her last time. You should be scared of . . . Eliz.

She looks at her dying friend over the bed, her head fluttering with anxiety "Who are they? They used you to do what?"

Eliz opens her mouth and closes it, her eyes shutting instantly. Myla flips up. Her chest moving up and down as the doctor walks in just in time with her mom behind.

"She can't be dead. Right?" Myla has never witnessed someone this close to her dying. And she can't imagine herself acknowledging that this lady died in her presence she couldn't safe her.

The doctor checks her and his brows furrow. He turns to them, his eyes filled with remorse. "I'm sorry we lost her"

"You got be kidding me. You told me that my daughter is going to be fine"

"She had a seizure. Did you give her anything before coming here?"

"What's the point of answering this question now?"

The doctor seems confused. "Someone must've given her something to kill her. I think she was murdered"

Everyone snaps his or her heads towards the doctor. "What are you saying?" Myla inclines

"My colleagues and I will run testes to find out about this poison" the doctor says and exits.

Myla stares down at the cold coups in front of her, tears staining her cheeks. Murdered? Who could—do such?
