Chapter 10

Ese's pov

I got to my hostel around 6,i was really tired but still so happy,I enjoyed my day and of course it was all because of my Yoruba demon,wait did I just call him mine!!.I need to take a long shower,I'm guessing my tiredness is making me think stupid thoughts.

On getting out of the shower,I felt so relaxed and was laying on my bed when I heard my phone ring.It was from Eni.

"How was your date?" She said excitedly

I smiled.This girl won't kill me.

"Aha aha,No pleasantries first?" I teased

"Free me jor,it's not only pleasantries, give me gist,in fact never mind,you are at your hostel right?,I'm coming" She said

Without waiting for my reply she hanged up.

I smiled.

Well this is going to be fun,I have been itching to talk about what happened today and Eni will definitely make me spill every single detail.

In less than 5 minutes Eni was in my room.

"So spill,how was the date?" She said excitedly while adjusting herself on the bed and giving me a look like I was about to give a very vital lecture.

I started laughing,in between laughs I said "If you can just see yourself right now,you are looking so serious,as if what I'm about to say will change lives"

Eni just hissed "Babe spill jor,how was it?,did he ask you out?,did you guys kiss again?,did he say he likes you?"

I chuckled "well..first of we both know it wasn't a date but regardless I had fun"

Eni just rolled her eyes "Keep telling yourself that,so you had fun,details!?what happened? "

"Well it was amazing,he was so cute today,the way he looked at the art works amazed,the way he teased me, the looks he gave me when he thought i wasn't looking,his smile,his laugh,he annoys the hell out of me but I can't help but like how I feel when he does,he riles me up which is annoying but i get over it so quickly,it's shocking really,at the same time he can be so sweet,I didn't even know I could use the word sweet for Seyi,but he is,he can be such a gentleman"I said all that smiling like a love sick puppy,what has that demon done to me,please no.I can't like like Seyi right?

Eni jumped off the bed and looked at me like I just said Jon bellion was at my door.

"Omg!!!,you really do like him!!!" She said "After just one date" She said with a smirk.

I just,stared at her while letting all that had happened since I met him go through my head and it hit me,I can actually say I like him, like him enough to say yes when he asks me out again,after that night he consoled me,he said the right things,did the right things,he didn't run or freak out.

He is still hanging out with a girl that went through that.I was already gone then but I didn't want to believe it,I thought I didn't trust him enough to not hurt me,but now I think I actually do,even at that time I did trust him,I just didn't want to admit it

"I do Eni,I actually like him" I said staring at her

"Well duh!!" She said looking at me like I was crazy

"But then I don't think he likes me anymore,like he hasn't tried anything since that time he said he liked me.I thought he was going to kiss me tonight but he didn't,what if he actually just wants to be my friend now!?,this is what I do,I mess things up,someone I actually like and I messed it up!,what if it's too late,what if I have been friend zoned by the first guy I have ever liked!!" I said while pacing like a crazy person.

Eni quickly came up to me and held me so I could stay still"babe chill, just calm down,he still likes you"

"How do you know that" I said

"Well because when a guy asks a girl out and she says no,if they aren't interested anymore they move on,but our Seyi here isn't doing that,you guys have been spending time together even after he asked,like you guys just went out.He is trying to win you over girl!!" She said like it was so obvious

"Okayyy,I guess that makes sense,but how do I let him know he has done that already without seeming desperate?" I said looking worried

"Okay just go with the flow,he'll know, trust me" She said while smiling at me

"Okayyyy,I'm going to pretend like I know what that means" I said while giving her a confused look

"Babe don't worry,you've gat this" She said winking at me

And then her phone rang,she looked at it and then just left it there.

"Em Eni, why aren't you picking up your call? " I said worried

"It's Tobi,I don't want to talk to him" She said looking annoyed

"I get that,but maybe you should just tell him exactly how you feel,like everything,start from the beginning,once you've calmed down that is,I feel it's healthier that way" I said talking as gently as I could,I didn't want to upset her.

"Ese just leave it alone" She said looking annoyed

"Okay then" I gave her a smile

"let's talk about my outing with my dad,it was really nice,I met my step mom and sisters,I thought it'll be weird but it was totally cool"

"Awwwwn,I'm happy for you" I said feeling genuinely happy for her, she has gone through a lot and she deserves this

"Thank you,my sisters are so cute,one is 8 the oldest and the other is 6, Spencer and melody,their mom is really nice.

We went for lunch and then the girls wanted to get snacks so we did that too,my dad had to go but my step mom didn't want to end the day like that,so she decided to take us shopping,like she got me so many stuff,it was so fun,they were all so nice to me.

Besides Tobi and his issues,I'm happy Ese,I feel like i have a family again and the fact that my dad and his family are actually this awesome is amazing and so rare,I'm so happy" She said all that and then let out a sigh.

"It is and babe you deserve this" I said

We got interrupted by my phone buzzing,I basically sprinted to my phone hoping it was Seyi

It was an alarm for me to study for my test,but the test is on the 8th,I still have time,I just have few things to brush up.Wait up,today is 7th meaning the test is tomorrow!!!

"Eni!!,SAA112 test is tomorrow!!" I screamed

"What are you saying the test is on the 8th,we still have time"

I gave her a look waiting for her to catch up

"What are you looking at me for,wait 8th" She quickly checked her phone "Tomorrow is the test!!" She jumped up

"Exactly!!" I said while checking the time,it was about 7: 30

"Let's calm down,it's fine,it's fine,we can do this" I said both to myself and her

And then I went on to say "you know what,just go to your hostel,get your books and come back so we can study together,we still have time,the test is by 11 am,all we have to do is study for like 2 hours,and we will be ready,it's not like we are starting from scratch,we have gone through this course already and the scheme is also not a lot,we've gat this, just hurry up so we can start

" Yea yea I'm going " She said and then quickly left

It was 10 at night, we were done with reading,Eni was sleeping next to me and i was awake thinking about how distracted I have been lately from the party last Friday,to the outing yesterday, I think I need to take this Seyi thing slow

But then again I don't want to, I'll just have to find a way to balance it all I thought to myself,yes I'll do that, I can do this.I need to change from the book worm to a social butterfly,maybe not that but at least come out a little.

Just then I got a text,speak of the devil

Seyi:Hi E, still awake? (10:05)

Ese:Hi seyi (10:05)

Seyi:Just wanted to say thank you for today, I enjoyed it (10:06)

Ese:It's nothing

I had fun (10:06)

Seyi: Good (10:06)

Ese:Stop sending that

Seyi:Fine I'll stop, just wanted to annoy you a little ( 10: 14 PM)

Okay just wanted to talk to you

It's getting late, I'll let you get your beauty sleep (10: 15 PM)

Ese:well it was going well before the whole freakish emoji

Good call cause I have a test tomorrow so I have to sleep now.

I held the phone to my chest swooning,good night I said to my self as i slept off.
