"Flavius of Caneloveft, we have found you a 'Cohort.' " A woman dressed in plain stola, raven haired said in front of a house as she left the scene.
A young boy, dark blue hair cut in two rows feathers curls, dressed in light red toga ran out of the house plastering a smile on his face: knowing today was the day he finally gets a 'Cohort' following in position of the previous owner of the EXTERMINATOR, that was his father. He'd learned and heard stories about the red-blooded armour and its strength but by having a 'Cohort' it amplifies the strength of the EXTERMINATOR by hundred folds. The young boy laughed at the thought of it on seeing his 'Cohort' those happy thoughts went stale.
"Say, hi to her." Another woman said, yellow skinned, dressed in dark purple stola but having a shawl covering her body from the shoulder which was fastened with brooch. Endowed with alluring earrings, necklaces and bagels, who was later known to be Flavius's mother.
"Mum… why is my Cohort a female? Why can't I have a male Cohort like father and grandfather?" He stopped. A spoilt brat he was. He was totally disappointed by the short young girl who was in front of him, his thoughts of her; most likely a slow-mover. Dressed in brown frock, slumped shoulders, expressionless while casting her hazel eyes down as her wild brown hair fell all over face. She definitely not worth to be my Cohort.
"Flavius, where is your father?" His mother ignored his questions with a thin smile on her face as she asked.
"Mum, I don't wanna." He complained stomping his foot then folded his arms against his chest.
"Flavius!" A voiced yelled from the house.
"Quick, go with her before your father comes at you." His mother persuaded.
"But… " Flavius eyebrows snapped together on staring at the young girl hiding half of her body behind Flavius's mother,
"so you are the one, right?"
"Y-yes, I-I'm the one, M-my N-name—" the young girl stammered while blinking frequently without making a direct eye contact.
"Come on speak up," Flavius pressured while inching closer to her. She fidgeted,
"I said speak the F—"
Slam!
"You freaking boy! How many times did I ever tell you-spoilt brat about using the F-word?!" Someone yelled once again within the house,
"You should count yourself lucky it was passed down to you at this early stage of your life! So zero in on only training to become one with the armor!"
Flavius was seen on the floor hit by a elongated arm then he slowly raised his head having a whole dirt in his mouth the next thing... he burst into tears.
"Mum!" Flavius whined.
"Oh, Timilehin!" His mother slapped the elongated hand back to the house.
"Ouch!"
"Stop being lazy and come see your son off, instead of using that potency of yours to do something this useless." His mother yelled back to the house known to be his domicile, the young girl tightened her grip onto Flavius's mother long dress. His mother realized her reaction then she sighed with her palm slightly smacked against her forehead, I think I scared the little girl. She said to herself.
Concerning the aftermath of the war: Flavius's Father and his Cohort got seriously injured even the Humanes' healers then were not able to heal both of them completely, this made him suffered from depression not mostly contented with everything that had happened to him so he lived alone in a small home on the mountains away from his family with a visit from his son and wife occasionally and for that reason he passed down the EXTERMINATOR to his first child by heirdom.
"I don't feel like it. I'm busy!" Timilehin yelled back.
"Gosh! Timi!" As she spoke she helped her son up from the ground, "come on, spit it out. Here we go."
Flavius stood up spat the dirt in his mouth, cleaned his tears and mouth then he sniffled.
"Hey what are you looking at," he faced the young girl with his blue blazing eyes,
"haven't you seen a cool boy crying before."
"I-I'm sorry, I p-promise I won't tell a s-soul." The young girl stammered, lowering her eyes.
"Yeah, that right," he scoffed as he stepped away from her.
"Good day!" Someone greeted walking over to them, wearing a hat slightly sweating in his drained grey tunic and toga from his trip up to the mountains while holding a wooden walking stick guessed that the reason why anyone hasn't visited him yet apart from his wife and son, maybe many of them were lazy to climb up the mountains.
"Oh, my. Good day to you too," Flavius's mother turned to the one who greeted,
"Timilehin! Your friend, Matthan is here to pick your son, won't you welcome him before he leave with your son?"
"I don't feel like it. I'm busy!" Timilehin yelled still in his home.
Matthan smiled, he knew it was the cause of releasing the EXTERMINATOR to his first son, not fully grasping how the world works yet. Additionally the injures on his body were far too grave to put on the EXTERMINATOR for it required a certain amount of strength then Matthan touched his right side. Indeed he was the Cohort of Flavius's Father.
"Anyway, Friend. I'm off to train your son and his Cohort." Matthan said rubbing his mustache-pointed beard while staring at the house.
"Aren't you coming to—"
"Tell Great-grandma, I don't feel like it, I'm busy." Timilehin interrupted him.
"Timi!" His wife yelled then she turned to his friend, "I'm truly sorry for my husband's behavior—The sun will set soon, have a nice training days," she looked at her son,
"come here let mother give you a goodbye kiss."
"No, mum!" Flavius walked away feeling embarrassed, "I don't feel like it." Then he flashed a smile. "Thank goodness I won't be anywhere near the Child's Institute of Thoughts for so many days!"
*Sigh* Like father like son. His mother shook her head.
"Let's go-Girl and I promise to be the strongest EXTERMINATOR ever live!"
Flavius thrusted his fists in the air.
"Y-You mean, We—" The young girl corrected.
"What do you say? I see only me here since my family pay a large tons of diamonds for—"
"Alright, Alright. Flavius lead the way."
Matthan held him by his shoulders from behind to stop talking before saying something that might hurt the young girl.
— At the beginning, the house of Caneloveft, a rich family from the Humanes with the EXTERMINATOR at their possession: after so many years researching on the gift given to them as a souvenir by the Inhumanes paring with the Caneloveft occultism ways of living; the strange Red-blooded armor was specially forged for them, needing a person from the Caneloveft family and a Cohort from another family in forming a contract as a single wielder. When the EXTERMINATOR was first brought in to the Caneloveft family then Great-grandmother was just a little child knowing how the red-blooded armour works, It sounded bizarre not to the family but every Humanes around, most especially the Krystallo family for they hated our ways. Then after some uproar on every sides, the Caneloveft family came up with a decision along with their researches gained every beings that would be engaged into the rites to become the Cohort's EXTERMINATOR not only the family would be rewarded with many tons of diamonds, the opportunity would be given only to the family that has lesser potencies' performance, mendicants or having the potencies that would be ineffectual in the field of battle.
Soon after, families after considerations acted on the matter still not knowing the outcome of such actions however surprisingly the succession of the other family whom had excepted while undergoing a few training and rites with the wielder of the armor were magnificent and successful. It paved a new understanding to some of the Humanes to the ways they think about their deep-rooted enemies, the so called Inhumanes though a small masses thought so. After the successful rites and training to fully become the EXTERMINATOR and having to witness the great power of the Red-blooded armour, in the near future the armor was passed down to the first child and it was mentioned to be needing another family in wielding it together, this time many family having lesser potencies' performance acknowledged it giving the rise of harsh competitions against each family and the winner having the right to become a 'Cohort' of the EXTERMINATOR'S wielder.
"Are we there yet? The main district of Caneloveft?" Flavius asked, they were now walking on a concreted ground as many trees on both sides rustled aganist each other.
That story was starting to bore me out, after hearing it for a thousand times during my stay with Great grandmother.
Matthan giggled.
Huh, did he just read my mind.
"Soon, we ain't that far from it. Great-grandmother would be so delighted to see you."
"Huh? Great-grandma, how I missed her stories." He lied.
"W-which type of s-stories?" the young girl asked.
"Tsk. You are not from this family and yet you are preying, why am I stuck with a girl like you, come on look at me, look at her, we are so much different from each other."
"Calm down, Flavius don't judge by gender alone, remember she is only here because she aced all the test given." Matthan revealed.
"Maybe she cheated, maybe she bribed the appraisers?!" Flavius stated
"I-I d-didn't." the young girl spoke the truth.
"Nah, I don't believe you one bit."
"We are here." Matthan proclaimed, staring at a huge statue looking like the Red-blooded armour which stood high on a fountain surrounded by beautiful flowers of various kinds, one could see a large house just above the garden floor.
Flavius sniffed the fragranced atmosphere bearing a sense of comfort then he laughed.
"Cool! It brings back memories when I was young."
"B-but you are still young." The young girl recalled.
"Is this for real, why do you always interrupt me. You seems you need some beating," he drew in a fist and bounced all over, "come on are you ready, you want some, I called my left fist the jumble go round, this, you see my right fist is for ass punching. Come on why are you doing nothing or are you afraid, scaredy-cat"
"Oh, Flavius my Great-grandson."
"Huh?"
Flavius turned as he saw Great-grandmother walking towards him dressed in her fancy stola and her shawl covering her head down to her shoulders with few beings matching behind her: they looked like the praetorian guards having the symbol scorpion carved on their red leather armor worn on their body and their helmets put on without a shield or a sword in their hands then she stopped staring at Flavius with his fists up facing the young innocent girl.
Matthan bowed by greeting her.
"What is happening here, Matthan?" she asked.
Flavius looked at his fist then to the young innocent girl, how is he going to escape from this embarrassing situation then he came up with a better idea well making it more embarrassing by… then he burst into tears.
"… She tried fighting me and I said I can't because I can't- I can't fight against a girl then she punched me… " he sniffled.
His Great-grandma eyes slightly dilated then she perceived Flavius was lying. She looked at Matthan in which he shook his head.
She smiled understanding who Flavius was with his tricks.
She smiled stretched her enfeebled arms to her Great-grandson,
"Come let me see where she punched your little face."
"Really?!" He blinked.
She believed me?!
" I mean… okay."
