Upon the bonfire the five mysterious figures were spotted, the fifth one sat on the shoulder of the biggest figure among the five just as strong wind blew across the village.
The flames from the bonfire beacons on the five mysterious figures under the cloudy night, cladded in white robes and masks on their face, having a rune engraved on each of their mask except the one seating on the shoulder; The whole face was wrapped exposing only dried mouth and eyes. Making one wondered, how in the world were they standing in the large prepared fire without getting themselves inflamed?!
Lazarus eyes widened, the mysterious beings before him gave off a familiar vigors.
"They are… the bounty collector's underlings… how do they know…? Was I being followed?" He swiftly rolled his eyes around recollected they'd be more of them hiding in the shadows preparing for an onslaught against their mark.
Sniffia held her dagger firmly, clenched her teeth while glazing at the mysterious figures as usual without wimping, behind her Peirce swallowed still not sure if these was a presentation from the tribe.
The little girls and boys standing near Node at that moment with their headcloth blown away from their head by the earlier strong wind clinched to him, nervously exposing their bent shivering long ears.
"… it's all right… it's all right…" He heartened, looked to the mysterious figures. Who are they and why did they come here?
"... Sorry, we are only here to take what belongs to ours…" The figure seating on the biggest figure's shoulder uttered as the eyes reddened. "—Peirce!"
Peirce, his close friends with Lazarus were shocked.
"Peirce Wande!" The figure called the boy's name fully. "Of course, you are here, my test subject. No denying it. I can see your position clearly on my screen." The figure spoke staring at the screen.
Putting a tracking device inside those who I experimented upon is always a good viewpoint, so whenever they go gaga and escape finding them will be the easiest.
Peirce noticed the strange screen in his hands just at that point the clouds loomed across them casting out the full moon above which lightened the whole place and the face of the figure who spoke.
It was Frankenstein!
Sniffia eyes widened after sniffing. Indeed it was Frankenstein, the bandages on his face and his voice wasn't recognizable due to the earliest impact also affected his whole organs even to the bones.
Peirce slowly walked heavily towards the mysterious figures. How? I thought… we thought…
"Kid…" Lazarus whispered, "what are you doing? Stay where you are."
Peirce blinked, turning his eyes to Lazarus.
--Huh, is the crazy guy in white coat! One of the craziest underlings of the bounty collector. Node said to himself.
"Damn, he lived through that?"
Frankenstein luckily survived due to the genetics of various beings he injected into himself and the Forest Nymphs aid to bring him back to life, if they were a moment late he'd have died furthermore the beings with him were not actually the Bounty Collector's underlings but his.
It was Frankenstein who raised them from the dead by experimenting on each and every one of them, entirely different from how he raised the Grotto Nymphs from the dead.
"We won't do any harm to beings of this tribe, we only came for him," He pointed straight to Peirce among the tribe's men and women, one could see his bandaged arm as it was lifted, leaving what happened at the city of bounty hunters aside only the plan to retrieve the one who will be the very foundation and the completion of Project Liberation no matter what.
"I see you~ Now bring him to me! Zero-Zero your move!"
Suddenly brume cloaked the scene coming out from the hands of the one standing to Frankenstein's left.
"I- I can't see." Node fretted looking sideways.
The brume was so quick and thick he hardly saw the girls' and boys' faces clinching onto him.
"Children stay where you are, don't move! Your mummies and daddies are coming for you!" a voice spoke within the brume.
Though no one could see through, it was never a problem to the tribe's men and women for they had noses that could sniff out anything from many miles away and ears that could pick up even the slightness sounds in the desert. They were doubtlessly from a race called Beast beings.
Sniffia sniffed, knowing where Peirce was, She stealthily walked closer to him while firmly holding her dagger.
Eventually she saw a faint shadow of Peirce as she walked, her eyes expanded having felt something coming at them, in an instant she jumped, pushed Peirce out of it's way, striking only her away. She grunted as she was swept in another direction by it.
Peirce fell to the ground within the brume not knowing what happened, he turned his body towards where her voice was last heard with a scream.
"Sniffia!"
Peirce echoing Sniffia's name struck Node's ears, his eyes widened among the nervous children around him still holding closely to his clothes then he noticed a faint shadow figures and heard faint steps approaching him, his heart skipped a beat, rooted to the ground then finally heard a voice as the figures came closer.
"Just stay were you are children, Mummy is already on her way."
Node exhaled, he was relieved, it wasn't what he thought it to be.
"There you are." One of the little children's daddy spoke.
They all gathered around Node.
Node immediately took the woman nearest to him by the hand as the children noticed their mothers and fathers was among them they all rushed to them, sniffling.
"Sorry, I will be leaving." He rushed deeper into the brume, wondering what might have happened to Sniffia for Peirce to loudly scream her name.
"Mister cook!... Mister…!" The parents cried.
Meanwhile Frankenstein looked at the smoke emitting being, nodded his head to halt.
Zero-Zero nodded back then pulled the brume back into his white robe.
Immediately Peirce stood up, searching for Sniffia unfortunately he did not see her nor the thing that hits her.
He turned to Frankenstein, to his amazement, he heard Sniffia muffling voices coming from the belly of the fat being.
Meanwhile inside the entrapped girl screamed. "Let me out! Let me out!" Kicking, punching and stabbing as hard as she could however it had no effect.
On the outside the fat being chuckled because her attempts to escape from his belly did nothing but tickled him.
"Huh?" Sniffia was surprised.
Frankenstein looked at the fat being, noticed he caught the wrong child, he slightly bit his lower dried lip.
Since the brume was no more, everywhere seems clear. Node was going the wrong way few meters eastern ward from them, he stopped and turned knowing what was going on, he inclined his eyes to Lazarus with a thought.
Why is he not doing anything?
Glowing black tentacles sprung up from the ground instantly and thoroughly wrapped the fat guy's lower belly, the biggest figure in white robe immediately held the tentacles tightly on the fat figure's body, about tearing it off.
Lazarus looked at him.
"We meet again!" Lazarus exclaimed from were he stood, beaming the tentacles from his hand. "Not this time!"
Large numbers of tentacles glowingly overshadowed Frankenstein and his underlings, smashing every palm trees and the bonfire within that space despite that they all hopped away unscathed before it hit except from the fat figure then few glowing tentacles manageably held the biggest figure while he was in the air, wrapping around him tightly making a way on the ground successfully squeezing out Sniffia from the fat figure's belly then took her with one of his glowing tentacles back to Peirce.
The biggest figure strongly swung his weapon in his hand—A large metal ball in spikes.
It screamed directly to Lazarus while attached with chains effortlessly penetrating through the tentacles almost hitting him, Lazarus immediately sidestepped as the head of the weapon boomeranged back cutting through the tentacles with it's spikes while setting himself and the fat being free.
"Oh, the shadow Inhumane, one of many inimitable test subjects I forgot to put my tracking device in, I never thought we will meet again, here of all places perhaps did you come here together with the boy?" Frankenstein questioned.
Seeing the shadow Inhumane among the tribe of the desert, hmmm... It may cause a slight problem to the plan… regardless of that I'm sitting on my greatest experiment so far.
Fear crept up to Node's face. He'd recognized the weapon in the hand of the biggest being. That was the iron mace he wasn't able to lift at the chamber when escaping from Frankenstein's laboratory.
Damn! So… the iron mace's really for that monster… it's befitting. He said to himself.
On the other hand, Peirce wasn't sure what to do as Sniffia stood in front of him, gradually the villagers at the scene gathered to the other side then the tribe's guards rushed in unsheathing their weapons at the trespassers.
"Drop your weapons and leave this place this instant! The Rogogal tribe sees you as a threat to be expelled from our village." The person who led Peirce and his friends to the village yelled, "Protect the children and the old; take them to where they will be safe!" He ordered.
"Yes, Chief Jamal!" Four of the tribe's guards answered as they moved from their positions, directing the people of the tribe.
"... We have an injured victim here, quick the healing potion." One yelled from afar.
While seated, Frankenstein sets his palm on the biggest figure's other shoulder with the strange screen in the other hand.
"Calm yourselves down, we caused no trouble here the shadow Inhumane did, we only came for the boy nothing more, nothing less." Frankenstein said.
Jamal, side looked at Peirce, Lazarus and his tribe members then back to Frankenstein.
"Then we ask nicely leave here at once, your stay here creates a far cry between our tribe. We would retaliate if our warnings was disregarded." Jamal notified.
The mysterious beings been here will do more harm to us than good additionally there is no bastille constructed for trespassers like them, worst comes to worst we will succumb in killing every last one of them and dump their bodies to the desert Beast roaming around us to feed on. But to avoid this bloodshed they only need the boy… What should I do?... My decision on this matter decides it all.
"Fine, you need the boy?" Jamal questioned knowing well the reason why they were here.
"Exactly." Frankenstein responded.
"I wish I could…" Jamal observed once more that the only ones here were the mysterious figures, Peirce with his friends, the Shadow Inhumane and the tribe's guards while the remaining ones have taken asylum. A decision was taken.
"… But there is a slight problem,"
"Which is?" Frankenstein asked, putting the strange screen under his bandaged chin.
"Without remorse, the boy won't be given to the likes of you beings who will for certain harm such child. He's now one of ours along with his friends! No one will be forcibly taken not in my watch." He proclaimed.
Peirce's whole body vibrated, his heart drums more loudly, his eyes went round. Has he ever felt this way before? A whole village was definitely protecting him and not a single one of them was opposing.
It only makes a day the teenagers and the shadow Inhumane stays among us, already everyone in the tribe are fond of them, which means giving them the boy would be a very bad decision to make, who knows what will they do to him… or what will he do to them if he snapped.
Frankenstein sighed contently, "I know it will come to this..." He looked at the person beside him.
"Make room for plan B."
The person beside him nodded, stretched out his arms as he produced three portals few meters in front of the tribe's guards.
Everyone facing the portals wondered what it was, until they heard a snarling sounds from within which became deafening as red eyes came into view then a darkened-rotten long, slimmed finger reached out after; a face unveiled before the full body slowly walked out of the portal appearing to be a very tall creeper in rags.
It looked around snarling and snapping it's teeth as it does, many creepers came from each of the three portals giving off foul smell altogether.
One portal later appeared behind where Frankenstein and his underlings were.
"--Creepers?!"
"What are they doing here?" Many among the tribe's guards who recognized them uttered.
Sniffia with Peirce stealthily retreated back while Lazarus moved forward as his wrist reapers glowingly forged.
Jamal looked at the pink lake from afar.
We were always safe from them because they never had the ability to swim... I see, these wild creatures were created by this being!
He's dangerous...
