Just outside the weird looking, wooden darkened small building. The night sky above, filled with precisely trimming dotted stars that shone over like diamonds alongside the moonlit as the cold strong wind blew across as if it will snow at any given moment. Just beneath the night sky, Azra and Aquila in their Beast being's fur clothings stood at the front main gate of the Humanes which sturdily stood many feet high ahead.
Azra held back his fluttering furred cape as his long knotted dreadlocks also sways, staring so intently at the slightly opened gate, perceived an ominous presence behind the gate.
"Who goes there?!" A familiar voice echoed behind the large sturdy gate through the cold breeze.
"It is I, Azra, this is Aquila and behind me are my fellow Beast beings, we came on our own accord hearing the King of Humanes, himself speaks on taking any one in no matter the race or where one comes from." Azra pointed out.
"… And what makes you think, the King will accept some low life Expats of the Beast beings into his walls," The voice retorted. Azra eyes slightly widened as Aquila slightly fidgeted, "don't get it twisted, Azra Miller, you don't seems important or threatening enough for we Humanes to handle however the lady beside you is giving off a certain killing intent that could burst out anytime, I'm as well discouraged to let something like her in."
Azra looked at Aquila. Then turned his eyes to a specified shaded part of the gate knowing the voice was coming from the exact direction.
"From the way you speak? Your hatred knows no bound towards we the Expats of the Beast beings. May I see the face that speaks down on us."
The voice showed his face, appeared to be Abbey, stroking his ponytail on his left shoulder.
"Why I'm I fixated on your kind, you may ask. However what could an Expat like you do to a superior being like me? I'm not like the so called Jared the Divine Humane of air-blech! Sorry I felt irritated for a second at the mention of it, who you insufficient Expats luckily captured not too long ago. Oh, is there a bounty on my head also? Bring it on. I dare you."
Aquila immediately drew her dagger out of its sheath. Seems we are unwanted here. She reflected.
Abbey's lips shut, his narrowed eyes squinting, disdaining her.
"Hmm." Azra calmed her down with a gesture of his hand, Aquila's nose crinkled before sheathing back her dagger as Azra stared into Abbey's face slightly giving a blank stare.
That ponytail hairdo, the rumbling of thunderstorms above and the ill-mannered ways he addressed we the Beast beings only means... he's a kind of guy who normally beats his opponent with words alone.
"You must be Lord Abbey, from the house of Ida, The Thundering Archfiend."
As soon as Azra revealed who Abbey was, fork of lightnings from above flashed within the dark clouds widely reflecting everyone there accompanied by heavy wind and thundering sounds that heavily rumbled repeatedly as Abbey leaned forward with his hands clasped behind his back, "It's great, at least you have an insight to know who is standing above you in many ways."
Aquila groaned. Azra shook his head. He's testing my patient if I will revolt or not.
"I'm truly sorry if we may have offended the king or your close friend."
"Augh, If you may have offended you say, close friend you say." Abbey rolled his eyes.
"… My primary reason… my primary reason is to ask for forgiveness and a place of safety," he turned, behind him many Beast being refugees abjectly stood unsure if they would enter into the Humanes walls or not. Azra closed his eyes shut, he can't be denied just like that without or at least allowing his kind that faithfully followed him here enter the Humanes kingdom safe and sound, he had no choice but to plead, he uncaringly kneeled. Aquila brows lowered, eyes blazed, jaw twitched as her cheek flooded with color. She was by any means ready to put a hole in Abbey's neck at that period.
"Lord Abbey, we beg of you. Other than me, let my people in, I will gladly accept your divine punishment." Azra pleaded as his fist clenched on his thighs then he unclenched them slowly with a lowered face.
Abbey glanced at the kneeling Azra then at Aquila, flashed a warm smile.
"Abbey. What's the meaning of all these?" Gage demanded in his iconic reflective armor, thoroughly reflecting the lightnings still discharging from above, he stood just behind Abbey who was much taller than Lord Abbey.
No one knew when and how he appeared behind Abbey. Including the Beast beings around for he had such an amazing stealthy way of appearing behind one's back.
Abbey took a side glance at Gage just as his smile vanished.
"What a coincidence…" said Abbey, stroking his ponytail. "I will let them in if truly they seek an asylum." Abbey clasped his hands behind his back once more. "… What brings a Divine Humane here of all places?"
"Haven't you heard?" Gage questioned standing still with a folded arms staring at the back of Abbey.
"… Heard what?" Abbey asked, fully turning to Gage still clasping his hands behind.
"Sigh… you and that I-don't-care-attitude of yours." Gage spoke softly. "Well, the princess is no where to be found yet again. Do you possibly know where she might be? Since you are now her handler."
"Hah, worry not she is not a child anymore, she is some where in the kingdom fully enjoying her youthful strength."
Suddenly a great explosion was heard from afar many meters away in the kingdom. They all turned to the direction of the explosion.
"See, let her enjoy it all." Abbey witted.
Gage looked at the yellow caped Royal Guards keeping sentry at the gate.
"Quick five among you go check thoroughly where the sound is coming from while alerting the other Royal Guards!" Gage commanded as five yellow caped Royal Guards responded and zoomed towards the direction of the explosion.
Seems the oddly cold aura coming from the explosion must be the princess.
Abbey walked closer to kneeling Azra, he lowered his narrowed eyes down to him.
"I was expecting a strong retaliation from a renounced Beast being such as you, Azra Miller but… you disgust me." Abbey voiced.
Azra however kept sane as he kneeled sucking those insults in from Abbey like a soaked up sponge.
"When inside be mindful of the stickers, do act more like a ghost and be shamelessly humble just like a dog you are…" He turned "… even hearing you breath makes me sick."
"Enough, Abbey. Aren't you leaving also to know the reason for the explosion." Gage uttered still folding his arms, Abbey took a glance at Gage in a moment then he stroked his ponytail to his right shoulder.
"I? You know me well. I have another thing in mind—"
"--That's more important than the safety of the Crowned Princess, huh?" Gage interrupted, the ground beneath their feet rumbled for a while, the lightnings from above suddenly vanished along the dark clouds. Abbey turned without saying a word as he walked pass Gage however before entering the sturdy gate.
Abbey voiced.
"The little time wasted here is nothing, Gage. Like I said earlier. The princess is just fine." Abbey vanished in form of lightning that widely illuminated the area in a short while.
Gage sighed, unfolded his arms, walked as his armor slightly clanged at every moments to where Azra kneeled.
"I'm surprised, you totally hold it in even the dead would wake up in annoyance from Abbey's insults. I'm not trying to side anyone here but you truly don't have a place within our walls knowing it was you who led many of your kind to kidnap a Divine Humane at that. Nevertheless the King has forgiven you and forgotten the mistakes you did because he knew one day someone like you would come to us and seek help one way or the other. You may enter."
"… Thank you…" Azra stood up as he, Aquila and the Beast beings of young and old in their shabby furry wears slowly entered without a word. Gage watched with no or less expression on his face.
He allowed himself to be humiliated in front of everyone just to keep his fellow kind safe knowing only him and that lady can't fully protect the horrors and enemies outside these walls since the King only acknowledged everyone to live as one. He looked at the site of the explosion which ignited no fire but with the faintest smoke coming from the area.
"How?..."
Many moments ago during the first search for the princess and before the arrivals of Azra, Aquila with the abject Beast beings, within the wooden building the glowing crystals of many sizes shone their lights on the only two beings remaining in the arena as the spectators watched in awe.
Wren punched, kicked; the spectators roared in joy with every impact but Luna withstood every single hits without moving a muscle as if nothing happened, Wren finally noticed, leaned back then stood facing Luna few distance away.
"Uhm. What has gotten into you, you were always a talker when we fought, Luna." Wren claimed.
The young Aurorae's eyes rolled down to Wren.
The princess immediately went on guard pose.
"Are you perhaps just feeling the pains I inflicted on you? More like it. I'm ready—"
Luna instantly swung her large chained pickaxes, Wren eyes suddenly widened then dodged an inch from it as the sand breaks opened near her like a erupted drilled hole, "woo," Wren shifted many distance away as the sandy ground vibrated from the force.
Sheesh, with the sudden change of her speed closing my eyes for a second there will make me lose an arm or two. Wren said to herself.
Luna advanced to her, continuously swinging the chisel edge of the large chained pickaxes until the princess was cornered, Wren looked behind her then to Luna as she stood.
"Oh my bubbles. I'm cornered, aren't I?" Wren raised her fists higher in a guard pose.
Luna's face locked up, only raised one of the large chained pickaxe as her grey eyes glazed over at Wren's.
"We have no palaver, right?" Wren said, watched with her raised face as Luna's large body overshadowed hers.
Luna without hesitating thrusted it down, everything shook; debris from the wall and smoke filled the area where the princess and Luna were, the roaring spectators went silent in awe once more to witness if the fight had truly ended, as everything obstructing the area made less in there; all eyes went to where the princess was however to their amazement they only glanced at the cloak on the sandy ground pierced deeply through with the pointed head of Luna's large chained pickaxe, Luna scanned her surroundings including among the spectators but couldn't find Wren but couldn't find her, she was about removing her stuck weapon from the sandy ground, she suddenly looked up by instinct, every single person moved their eyes up also surprisingly Wren in dark blue tights was falling towards Luna about striking with her fists, Luna immediately and effortlessly raised the stuck chained pickaxe from the sandy ground at Wren, the princess sidestepped in the air reached out on Luna's body grabbing her by the head with both of her legs curled around her neck then strongly slammed Luna to the sandy ground however the large lady landed with one of her knees and hand on the ground before anything Wren tightly crossed her legs around Luna's body then firmly took hold of Luna's right wrist, one could see the veins drawn on the princess's left arm as she did the move restricting the Aurorae from moving her right hand then Wren wound her hand around Luna's muscled arm in a lock— Luna immediately knew the princess was giving the intentions to reach for her left hand, she tried escaping but it was too late, the submission as been done; all of these happened in milliseconds that was how fast the princess reacted. Now that the princess has gotten control of her opponent's left arm. She uncrossed your legs and slid her hips to the side creating some space to get into a better position to torque Luna's arm, she securely kept Luna's muscled arm tight to her chest then scissor her legs around Luna's waist once again holding her in place, slowly twisting Luna's hand to the back of her head. Luna slightly grunted as Wren's hand still holding on Luna's wrist pushed her bottom hand forward to rotate Luna's arm in completion—it put pressure on Luna's shoulder joint. It was a solid position that any opponent would had no choice but to surrender nevertheless not someone from the Aurora clan most especially the youngest of them all. Her adrenaline instinct kicks in, Luna was no where to give in. She gritted her teeth as her grey eyes turned to Wren's face in rage.
"… Just tap out… Luna!" Wren screamed. "I know you don't want to hurt me, I also don't want to do the same… but why are you going this far…? I might dislocate your shoulder. Let's end it all here!"
Luna exhaled as she forcibly stood, her hands still gripping onto her chained weapons and Wren still on her body slowly twisting her arm back.
Luna rolled her eyes around.
"… What… are you going to do…?" Wren questioned.
Suddenly with a single leapt Luna smashed Wren body including hers into the wall, Wren grunted a little but still held on and again the Aurorae smashed both bodies against another wall then Luna jumped so high her back touched the guard rails protecting the top of the arena, bounced back in force hitting the sandy ground with a loud thud that once again shook the arena as sand rained down on them and many of the spectators. Wren gave out a sudden cough slowly letting go of Luna's hand.
"Alright…" Wren voiced breathily, slightly in pain. Luna fully removed her hand from Wren's grip, cracked her arm back to place, she raised her large chained pickaxes while on top of Wren, a drip of blood could be seen rolling down from Wren's nose.
Luna about impelling her large weapons at Wren.
"… You ask for it." Wren immediately hit Luna with her fist as Luna in sudden strong wave flew to the wall hard as she dropped one of her weapon thudded to the sandy ground to her left few meters away.
Many of the spectators gasped at the scenery.
Smashed Luna, more than half of her body cratered into the soon to be crumbling walls with a lowered face as fleshed out bleeding cut was seen from her chin including the cut on her chest area made by the Inhumane with the katana earlier, she was expressionless as though she wasn't feeling a thing then she raised her head staring at the bald princess on her knees before staggeringly stood up as the cut in between Wren's eyebrow bled down to her smiling face then Wren pressed her left nose and blew out blood from the other one.
"Oh my bubbles, don't you never give up?" Wren clenched her fists staring at Luna with her glossy eyes, the blue fabrics tore from Luna's blue cape wrapped around her little arm sways with the sudden wind that blew.
Meanwhile the spectators were serene such a way that they were deaf-muted as they watched, many of them already knew it to be the out of the ordinary fight they had been waiting for their entire life but never predicated it will be these bewildering of a fight, most bets were on Lady Luna's however it seems to them, the fragile looking bald-boy might actually be the winner of tonight's battle.
Luna dropped her second weapon in her hand as everyone wondered if she had giving up, however to everyone amazement Luna puffed then she laughed really loud it filled the whole place given the only voice that was heard.
Wren exhaled also amazed by Luna's sudden laughter then Wren's eyes suddenly widened as Luna wasn't inside the cratered wall but where?! I didn't even blink, suddenly a large thump was heard at the right side of the princess which she manageably blocked with her arms.
Wren slid through the bloody looking sandy ground with her buried two feet, she rolled her eyes to her smoky arms, it slightly stung, then moved her face searching for Luna then another kick to the Princess's other side, Wren strained grunted as she was swept away by the kick, she then manageably held her ground.
The spectators finally gained back their joyful roars as they chanted.
'The Orphaned Berserker! The Orphaned Berserker! The Orphaned Berserker!'
Wren could only watched as Luna's strong kicks rained on her which was like ten times of Wren's hit however the princess actively held on as she only smirked through the pains inflicted on her by Luna's kicks.
Gradually, after many hits, Wren was moderately able to withstand her kicks as she adapted to Luna's sudden speed, even the princess haven't realized it yet but she was secretly growing in strength and experience at an alarming rate through the fight against the Aurorae then Wren caught up to Luna's speed as she followed through from receiving some hit and blocking many vital hits to dodging it all and countering many with her fists.
At a glance it looked to be a fight between fists and kicks which few could see for they were now fighting close to the speed of light while the arena was slowly crumbling no one gave attention because it was intriguing as blood from the two, sand and shock waves wallowed on them.
Suddenly both Luna and Wren met at the middle of the sandy battlefield still exchanging kicks and fists creating more and more greater shock waves evenly blasting the sand beneath their feet leaving only a bare cratered with cracks concreted ground.
Meanwhile as the arena was slowly crumbling, Bryan still behind the door watching every moment, he placed his hand on his hair.
"Goodness… what I'm I even watching… the boy's absolutely going on equal footing with Lady Luna's abnormal strength… even without their potencies shown…"
"If we don't stop them right now… this whole place will be in ruins. They're so strong to the extent their shock waves from the fight are felt from every corner of the place, sooner or later it will be felt by everyone across the kingdom." Someone foretold just behind Bryan.
"You think… since none of the higher-ups are complaining, we can only watch. And why are you here, got something to say to me again?" Bryan inquired from the messenger.
"Ah… yes… " the shaded messenger replied.
"Spill it…"
"The higher-ups… you are to report yourself to them immediately."
"Me…?" Bryan was slightly confused, why will they be calling him or is it because of the boy he brought with Lekan tonight? "… who among the Higher-ups send for me?"
"The Possessor, herself. The Godmother of the house of Caneloveft."
He turned to him, "lead the way..." As he followed the messenger, he side-glanced to Skylark still drunkenly sleeping on the ground, shook his head as he walked passed him.
"I guess we have another berserker among us…" Bryan spoke softly just as everything within the battleground largely shook once more from Wren and Luna who were seen bloodily smirking while fighting each other at the center of the arena.
Making one to wonder would their fight ever cease before the fallen of the Battlefield?
