PROTECTOR

Shea lost her mind for real as she immersed herself in the fight that she didnt see what was coming for her. The wolves managed to cut her skin deep at some places like her hands and legs. Shea made sure to protect her heart from the beasts. The wolves were stronger than she thought and even after an hour of fight she couldnt defeat them. They were getting tired as time passed by and that was the only hope that Shea had. She managed to bite one wolf in his fore leg and surprisingly the speed of the animal dropped.

The whole area turned into a mess and blood stains were making the green damp grass into red pool. Both the parties were highly injured and struggling to get out of the grip. Shea jumped high on the injured wolf hitting its wounded leg with all her force making the creature growl. The other creatures sprinted over to the human who stood their with blood shot eyes ready to rip the soul of the animal. Her fist clenched tight turning her knuckle white, while her lips parted showing the fangs from where blood was dripping.

The battle was disturbed when a foreign noise invaded their personal space. They stopped in an instant and the animal which sprinted landed itself in human form while the other animal which was on the grass turned itself back. The injured werewolf stood up with help of its friend and gave a death glare to Shea. Shea in the mean time hid her fangs and her red eyes which naturally turned back to its brown colour. The three enemies hid behind the bushes quickly and peeked to see who it was and the only person who got shocked was Shea. Shea stood confused seeing the man who was all dressed in black right in front of her.

"Brian?' Shea muttered under her breath.

But what is he doing at middle of the night in the dense forest and that too alone? Shea looked around to see if there were anyone else hiding but there was no sign of human existence. The werewolves looked more confident and for some reason, they decided to show up to the human. Shea noticed that the injured wolf started to get healed and it would be a lie to say she wasnt amused by it. Shea remained behind the bushes not because she was scared but to learn about the situation more clearly.

"Hey, punk. What are you doing here at this time?' the tanned man asked and Shea scoffed listening to the naive line used.

"Are you deaf?' the other man exclaimed in annoyance as they didnt any reply.

Brian didnt talk back but removed the coat he was wearing throwing it on the grass. His eyes were fixed on the two men who stood joking to each other and mocking him. His death glare was noticed by Shea and she felt uneasy for some reason. She frowned her eyes and focused the boy and she noticed his hands going back to his pants. She looked back into his eyes and they were steady and pinned to the front as if he was not scared even a tiny bit.

"The boy is scared to death or else he turned himself to a statue."

"Talk up.. or you wont return back to your mommy." the other man provoked.

Shea saw Brian pulling out something from behind and yes, her assumption was right...it was a gun.

"Never question me." three words which left the man's mouth before the bullet fired from his gun to the two men who stood confused.

The bullet penetrated their head making him fall dead on the wet grass in no time. Shea covered her mouth with hands to avoid any sound. Brian casually walked away without even checking the dead while whistling a tune. Shea came out of the bush and inspected the wolves which were dead and turned to their animal self.

She stumbled thinking of the scene. Brian, a normal human killed two werewolves whom a royal vampire couldnt win against since an hour. She couldnt contain the frustration that she took it out on the dead creatures. Soon she left the jungle running at her top speed and in the flash of light, she reached the bakery. Running up stairs to her room, she locked herself inside the room and sat down leaning on the door. Her hands involuntarily pulling her hair in frustration, she couldnt take out the thought about Brian.

"Why was he there at this time? That too alone? Why did he kill the wolves without trying to escape?" A lot of questions ran through her head which was obviously left unanswered.

Shea wanted to encounter Mrs.Sung at the instant but she couldnt do so as it would put her in trouble for sneaking out of the house at the time. She looked out to the sky and the moon was shining brightly and she wondered why she didnt notice it earlier. The way she somehow managed to escape and the credit being given to a normal human. The thought itself had made her feel sick to the stomach.

The night didnt let her sleep and as usual her brain took her back to those days when she genuinely smiled. The days when she and Tan had the time of their life without caring about anything, just enjoying their own company in their magical world. The wide boxy smile the boy showed off with sparkling hazel eyes. The colour of his beautiful shiny hair changed a lot that Shea could remember how she used to spot her man from a crowd just by using hair colour. Shea chuckled thinking about the time, he once coloured his hair with pink and blonde.

Shea slowly slipped into a deep slumber not knowing a pair of eyes were watchin her all along.

"You are still trying to get answers?" the voice spoke ever so lightly.

The person walked in to her room and kept a piece of paper in her night stand and returned without any delay.
