Lawless

"Jinchuan, no matter what. The throne can only belong to you. Do whatever it takes, but only you will have to become that next emperor and not that monster. Do you understand?"

Murong Jinchuan pressed his lips together as determination flashed through his sly eyes. Of course, he wanted that throne, that position. Since he was a child, his ambition was to become an emperor. But, his father never took a good look at him. All his love and care was given to one person and that was his elder brother, Murong Jinzhi. He was extremely jealous of his elder brother. What was so good about him? Why did his father shower all of his love on his elder brother? Why could that throne only belong to that one person?

Why couldn't it be him?

How can a person who is evil, only knowing how to kill and destroy become an emperor?

He had to agree with his mother, Murong Jinzhi was not worthy of that throne!!!

However, his father was adamant about making his elder brother the next emperor. It was a set decision, a firm decision that no one could change. No matter who protested against it, or spoke against it was dealt by his father harshly. Hence, even the courtiers had no other option but to agree with the Emperor's decision and keep silent about it. But, not him. Murong Jinchuan wasn't happy with that decision. Yet, he didn't show that on his face. His father already didn't like him much, so he didn't want to receive even more hatred from him by going against his decision.

This matter only fueled his ambition even more. Murong Jinchuan was going to fight hard and fight smart but he was never going to let his elder brother win that throne. That throne was his and his alone!

"Mother, calm down...." Murong Jinchuan smiled. "That throne will only belong to your son."

Noble Consort Ying took a deep breath and leaned back onto the couch. She was well aware of her son's heart and that's why she wasn't worried about it. She knew about her son's capabilities and was already aware that he had his ways to deal with these things. He didn't need her help. But, at the same time, she couldn't sit still and let that monster have a good life. If she was suffering and not happy, then she wanted everyone else to suffer along with her. Hence, she bought those mercenaries to deal with the Crown Prince.

"Mother, don't do this again," Murong Jinchuan advised.

Anger flashed through Noble Consort Ying's enchanting eyes but looking at her son's face, she frowned unwillingly. "Why?"

"Mother, you know why....."

"But, I am not afraid of him and that dog emperor," Noble Consort Ying snorted proudly. "What can they do to me? They cannot harm me. Don't forget, the antidote to that poison still lies in my hand. Until and unless, I have that, they can never harm me."

"I know, mother." Murong Jinchuan agreed. "But, it's not good for your health. Also, I don't want you to suffer from all these troubles."

"But, Jinchuan...."

"Mother!" Murong Jinchuan looked at her sternly. "Trust you son. Soon, he will get that position and let you have your revenge. Until then, you lay low for a while. Elder brother is crazy. I can never predict his movements. So, please, don't take any chance with him. He can do anything he wants and with the father emperor's backing, he's lawless. I don't want him to hurt you."

"Okay." Noble Consort Ying sighed. "I won't do it again. And, if I want to do it, then I will first talk with you."

"Thank you, mother." Murong Jinchuan smiled.

Meanwhile, in the Jiang Mansion. Amelia was lazily strolling in her courtyard trying to get familiar with all the routes and ways with Shen Li trotting behind her. One of her hands was carrying a plate full of pastries while the other hand was busy in putting them in her mouth. As she munched on her pastries, she stumbled upon two maids who were booming the place while they were gossiping about something. At first, Amelia wanted to ignore them but because of her heightened hearing, she heard some of the words and recalled about an incident.

"Master Shen..... thief.... Muxun..."

"Don't tell Second Miss....."

"She is so pitiful....."

Amelia smiled when she heard those words. Recalling yesterday's events and the gift that she had left for that scum Shen Xiaozhang, her cheating fiance, she smiled. She was sure that yesterday might probably be the best day of his life. After all, the gift that she had given was so unique. Grabbing Shen Li's arm, she walked towards the maids and smiled, "What are you two talking about?"

Hearing her voice, immediately, the maids got scared and the broom fell from their hands. Turning around, when they noticed that it was her, their face paled and they took a step back. A guilty look flashed through their eyes because they were caught talking about their master behind her back. "S-second Miss..." both of them trembled in fear.

Amelia smiled, "You two were saying something? What were you two talking about?"

Immediately, both the maids got on their knees and began to cry for mercy. "Please... S-second Miss, don't punish us. Please don't sell us in that dirty place. We promise we will never talk about you or Master Shen. P-please, forgive us!!! Second Miss, we beg your mercy!!!"

Amelia: "............"

"Psst... Little Li, am I so scary?" Amelia asked with a confused look.

"Maybe," Shen Li shrugged. Seeing the current situation, he remembered about a rumor that was circulated in the capital, a year back about the fact that Miss Jiang Yuyu from the Jiang Mansion liked to abuse and beat all the servants. If she was not satisfied with the servant's work then she would sell them in those dirty places to serve man.

"What do you mean by maybe?"

"Maybe it was before your memory loss, Sister Jiang." Shen Li whispered and told her about the rumors that he had heard in a low voice.

"Oh!" Amelia frowned. But for some reason, she didn't feel like the previous owner was that cruel and would beat these maids. It was just a feeling in her heart. Maybe, if she could have the memories of the previous owner then she wouldn't be so confused. Now, that she was here, she was going to make sure that no one would spread these stupid rumors anymore.
