A Friend And A Liar

Ilona sent Isaiah to say goodbye to their mother and found herself standing alone with Mason.  She looked up at his forehead, where a little blood was mixed with his sweat around the cut.

She sighed, "I think you've been injured more since the night you left the castle than you have in the year leading up to it."

He laughed, his blue eyes sparkling as they looked down at her.

"That's not quite true... But I suppose I should expect spending so much time in the company of pirates to be hazardous."

Ilona rolled her eyes but couldn't hide her smile.

"How are you feeling?  I thought you might still be asleep when I woke up."

The Prince nodded and looked around them.

"I feel worlds better since I slept.  I think a majority of my trouble might have been from exhaustion.  I would have slept longer, but there were some... interruptions."
