[Bonus chapter]Run

      "N-Nick," Mason managed, "Nick!"

      Thunder rumbled above them as the fat drops of cold rain continued to pour down over the scene.  Mason's golden waves were pasted to his face and neck, and the fabric of his clothing clung to him like a second skin.

      "Nick!" he tried again, but the other man didn't move or show any sign that he had heard him.  The young pirate stood frozen in place, chocolate eyes locked on the cold, glassy green orbs that were taking in the sight of their prey.

      A flash of lightning split the sky above, and the loud crack that accompanied it was the thing that finally snapped them all out of their stupor.
