Ranger Training

The next few days went by quickly for Pavitra, she ended up more or less just walking around and overseeing the many building projects that had slowly been started. She also had approved another census style project by the administration as well. Just so they could find out as much as they could about the people who were under her and assign them to the roles that would be best suited to her.

Now as Pavitra sat in her tent, she was bored. The training of her personal guard was more or less being handled by Shourya and the soldiers who were helping him with weapon drills. The building projects and over projects like that did not even need her to oversee them all.

She could not help but wonder what her brothers did all day when they were in their own territory. Did there's run themselves as hers did? Though they were fully divided so they probably had to deal with other things and problems. Thinking of that, Pavitra suddenly came to a decision.

She should go out and explore that question mark! It would at least give her something to do for a bit.

Soon enough a few people were in the tent with her, they were namely the ranger commander, Shourya and the head of the officials. The three of them were all trying at the moment to persuade her not to do what she wanted to do. This annoyed her a bit, but she was trying to be nice to them all.

Each one had a different reason though.

The commander of the rangers was of the opinion that they could do their jobs without her with them and due to her not having their training she would not be able to do their jobs.

Shourya was of the opinion that it would not be safe fr her out there like it was in here and as the commander of her personal guard, he wanted her to say here where it was 100% safe.

The head of the officials was of the opinion that if she was not here and some important projects came up that required her direct approval. They would not be able to carry on with them while she was not here.

Each one had a different opinion but they all wanted her to stay exactly where she was. This is the one thing that she did not want to happen at all. Looking up at them all she finally came up with a good idea.

First, she looked at the ranger commander. "Give me a crash course on your training then the part that I do not know. Also train the personal guard in all of what you know as well, once they are ready." Then as she looked at Shourya. "I will be safe, one I can protect myself and two I will be with a force of rangers". Then as she looked at the official, she could not think of anything to say, until. "You will have to make decisions on your own then. Treat this a few day tests. If you do well, I will place you in charge of the administration officials."

Her words succeed in shutting them all up. She had dealt with all of their problems in one swoop and not only that, she would not make her personal guard a bit better once you got this training. They would be different from the royal guard at least now. It would be good for them on a frontier territory she guessed.

The three of them facing her unyielding answers all just looked up at her. Not knowing what to say, in the end, they all bowed down. Accepting her wishes.

The next day she was on a field with the ranger commander. It was just the two of them in this case. No one else could see them or would be watching. The man had an ugly look on his face and still would not give up his name.

"First of all. We never use our own names in the field. We all have code names. I am known as the eagle. This is due to my eyes being sharp and able to pick up little things. You will get your own at some point. For now, we will call you red shadow."

He then paused there for some reason. I guess he may just not like talking much.

"Next up, when in the field we have to talk as little as possible and be as quiet as possible. I will give you a few things to practise. A movement technique to walk as quietly as possible and some hand signs which allow us to communicate without talking."

He then spent hours going through it all with me. Luckily for me, I was an excellent student at being able to remember things like hand signs from all of my magic training. Thos I picked up fairly quickly which causes his eyes to twitch a little. Aside from that though he did not make any kind of movement at all.

The movement though I did not do so well with. At the end of the day, I was able to do the technique right. Though this did not seem to impress him that much which annoyed me for some reason.

The next went on from the last day, the movent technique I now practised on sticks and over objects which would make a noise if I broke them. When he did, he did not make a single noise at all. WHen I did it though, I made loads of noise. He then explained where I was going wrong and just let me carry on.

In the end, I was getting frustrated this was when he stopped and took me over to something else entirely. He handed me a few books, each one was about something else. From wild plants to animals. All he told me to do was learn from the books.
