Seeing Jason's brown hair from a distance, I grin and wave before walking towards him. It really is cold today. I rub my hands together to keep them warm.
"Sorry for suggesting to meet here. I forgot how cold it is." Jason apologises as I sit beside him on the bench.
"It's fine. I'm not cold at all." I say with a smile whilst gritting my teeth.
"Here." He hands me a warm cup of hot chocolate. "Keep your hands and body warm Eva."
"You noticed?" I say sheepishly. I guess his pretty blue eyes aren't just for show.
"Of course. How can I ignore you shivering? Shall we go somewhere else?" He stands up but I pull on the end of his jacket.
"Let's walk to keep warm."
He nods and I stand up. "How is Seb?" He asks as we walk alongside each other.
"He's annoying as usual." I confess. "But he did save me from answering to my mum so I guess I should overlook his annoying behaviour."
"Your mum? Did she already see you two?" He asks, pausing a little in his stride.
"We acted our roles perfectly so she believed us." I lie, crossing my fingers subtly.
"What about Miracle? Did she ask?"
I shake my head, "I left him at a neighbour's so she didn't see him apart from the end but Seb told her we were babysitting the neighbour's baby."
"I'm glad you got away scot free but you should prepare yourself if she asks anything else."
"I know." I mutter. My mum is the type of woman who won't let go so easily. She will definitely be back.
"I was wondering if you were interested in a part time job?" Jason says, glancing at me. "You're probably bored at home."
"What kind of job is it? I have to take care of Miracle. I can't keep leaving him with others." I say. I can't bother Rina or the neighbour again. Although Rina didn't seem to mind.
"Don't worry about that. My sister works at the nursery and you would be able to take Miracle with you." Jason smiles softly.
"Really? Let me think about it first." To be honest, he is right about me being bored to death at Seb's. I can't just laze around all day anyway. I need to repay Seb the money he paid to that insane hag.
"Sure. It's completely up to you. My sister is one of the managers so let me know when you've thought about it."
I smile. Jason is such a sweetheart. Would my mother approve of him if I somehow introduced him to her? His handsomeness is out of this world and he is a gentleman.
"Thank you Jason." I say gratefully, "I'm glad I met you."
"You stole my line." He pouts.
I chuckle, "You weren't quick enough."
He sticks his tongue out childishly and I laugh louder. As rain suddenly falls from above, I wrap my arms around my body and hug myself. I didn't even bring an umbrella.
"When did the forecast say it was going to rain?" Jason says in puzzlement, staring up at the grey sky.
"Have you got an umbrella?" I ask, shivering.
"I didn't expect it to rain so I didn't bring it. We should find shelter." Jason says. He glances at me and takes off his jacket. "Let's go."
In confusion, I run with him as he holds his jacket above us to keep us covered from the rain. What a time to rain!
"Sorry Eva, I really shouldn't have arranged to meet in the park." He apologises again.
"You don't need to apologise Jason. I agreed to come anyway. Let's get out of the rain first."
Our eyes light up when we see a cafe and step inside. We exchange relieved grins.
"Wear this." Jason throws the jacket over me and I glance down. My top is soaked through.
I laugh, "We seem to experience this kind of situation often huh?" This is the second time he gave me his jacket to cover my wet clothes.
Suddenly, my eyes widen when I see a vaguely familiar woman walking towards us. I duck behind Jason but it is too late.
"You're that bitch right? The one who is Sebastian Eccles' wife." She glares at me with her big blue eyes, her blonde waves falling flawlessly behind her.
Which sane person would admit to being called a bitch?! Trying to keep my anger under control, I step forward and stare at her, "Which one of us is the real bitch sleeping with someone's husband?" I silently pray to any God to forgive me for this lie but I won't treat someone with respect if they are disrespectful to me first.
I hear a gasp from behind and grin. People really love to eavesdrop on others.
"Y-you! You ugly bitch. You're lying! I never–" She screams, pointing a shaky finger at me.
I smile and nod, "You didn't? Who did I see that day? Oh my," I gasp dramatically and cover my mouth with my hand, "Don't tell me it was your twin?"
Jason snorts from behind me and I stifle a laugh myself. Carol's face is really transforming into every colour of the rainbow. I am reminded of an LED lamp.
"You ugly wench!" She yells and my eyes widen as she takes a glass of water which is on the table near her. I dodge but some of the water still splashes onto me. What is this karma I have with being soaked through every time Jason is with me?!
"You did it." I mutter as my anger flares and I grab the glass of red champagne on the table beside me. Revenge never felt so satisfying as I watch her scream and yell at the red staining her lovely dress. "Red really suits you." I grin and grab Jason's arm as I walk out of the cafe, ignoring the commotion behind me.
"I guess we have no choice." Jason grins and shrugs before we both start running. Let's hope the cafe staff don't chase after us.
Once we have made sure that we are at a safe distance away from the cafe, we stop and stare at each other before bursting into laughter.
"You really showed her back there." Jason laughs.
"I was being honest when I said red suits her. She should thank me for helping add colour to her outfit." I chuckle.
"One thing you'll have to remember from now on though." Jason grins.
"What?" I ask in confusion.
"Don't ever go to that cafe again or you will definitely be in trouble."
"Touché." I respond before smiling. "It felt good to get her back. I have no idea what she sees in Seb. How is someone like him popular with women? Do they not know how he drools when he sleeps, is messy and never washes his clothes himself? I'm always the one doing it." I grumble.
"You're hilarious Eva. You sound like a wife complaining about her husband." Jason grins.
"What are you saying?" I say, turning my face away from him in embarrassment. The last thing I want is to be his wife. "I would rather be with you."
His face snaps towards me and my eyes widen as I realise what I just blurted out. I run a hand down my nape in embarrassment. He might misunderstand.
"I-I mean, I would rather act with you than Seb." I say quickly.
Jason leans closer, his blue eyes twinkling like gems, "I don't want to act."
My face heats up. What?
