Chapter 11

The journey home was a long and exhausting one, it took us forever but the minute we arrived it felt as though we never even left. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of my mother's face when she sees us. She wasn't aware that I was coming home with a full squad. I rang the doorbell waiting patiently for someone to open the door, my mother seemed quite upset and

Took you long enough to get me my Chicken Nuggets, oh my goodness my mother said recovering

Don't you have anything else to eat I asked teasingly

Come in

Hey grandma they all greeted in union

Hey you better watch your mouth I'm not old it's Mrs Elizabeth

Yes grandma they replied again in union

And we all burst out laughing, it was like this every time and I could tell that it was going to be a fun weekend.

My mother has never been a fan of me adopting them, it wasn't because she didn't love them but because she wanted me to settle down with a man and my own kids. They loved my mother as their own. I still remember vividly the first time I brought them to my mother during the adoption process, my mother wasn't the least happy infact she adviced me to keep them with their relatives which I refused to do and went ahead with it.

Looking back now I realize that I did a great job by ignoring her. She looked really happy and had accepted them infact she didn't care whether I got married or not, she was content.

They are all asleep now what did you want to talk about. My mother said

Well, didn't you notice two more kids Mary-Ann said

Yes I did, do you want to adopt again?

Well, do you recall the kids I had that were stillborn babies?

Why do you want to bring back the past, they are gone you know, haven't you accepted that fact yet?

Well, old lady those kids that we thought were dead are the two kids I brought home today.

Explain?

Well, it seems that they were never dead

No not that how did you find them?

They found me actually

And who are they staying with?

Their biological father but I'm yet to meet him

Good, what about finding yourself a husband any luck yet

Not yet but soon

If you can't get any by 30, I'll arrange one for you
