Escalate

Lott was detained in the Criminal Investigation Division for a night.

After numerous probing, James had given up on investigating the other party.

James turned around and went to sleep. He had not slept for a day and a night. Now, he had to rest.

After sending the experts away, James collapsed on the makeshift camp bed. He thought about something.

...

Early the next morning.

Carly went to the interrogation room where Lott was being held. She brought him breakfast.

It was a treat few people could enjoy.

At this moment, Carly was carrying the breakfast and was about to push it in.

Just as Carly opened a crack, she saw a shirtless figure. The figure was counting the time as he trained.

Carly had seen people detained in the room who were scared, frightened, and old foxes who slept soundly. However, none of them worked out like Lott did.

At the metal table in the middle, Lott was doing push-ups with one hand. It was a very physically demanding move. However, it was smooth for Lott.

'He didn't train here all night, did he?' The thought appeared in Carly's mind.

In Carly's eyes, Lott had a well-proportioned body, well-defined muscles, and full of strength and energy. It was a perfect body.

The sweat on Lott's body had dripped onto the table. It made his body more attractive.

Compared to Carly who was standing at the door, in Lott's eyes, his body only had attributes that were constantly improving.

"Strength + 1."

"Coordination + 1."

...

As the numbers kept rising, Lott felt that his control over his body had become stronger. He even felt that he could now punch through steel bars.

It was exactly this feeling that made Lott not to slack off in his training. This was because he knew that his revenge had not stopped but was just the beginning.

"Good morning, Agent Carly."

Lott greeted her during the training break.

The moment Carly pushed the door open, Lott saw her.

"Good morning, Lott."

She had a good impression of this mysterious man in front of her.

A good man who was wrongfully imprisoned for the sake of seeking justice for his fiancée who was in a coma.

With this understanding, Carly did not think that Lott was evil.

In the interrogation room, Lott felt Carly's sudden change in her gaze. He did not say anything.

There were good people in this world as well as bad people.

Lott looked at Carly and asked with a smile. After all, bringing breakfast was an act of goodwill.

"Having been locked up an entire night, did you find out any new information?"

Looking at the handsome muscular man with a bright smile in front of her, Carly was a little distracted. However, she quickly returned to her senses and said, "No and I have good news for you. You can leave now."

Lott smiled.

After wringing the clothes dry, Lott put them back on.

Looking at Lott, Carly handed over the breakfast in her hand.

"Eat something first, wait..."

Looking at Carly's hesitant expression, she was obviously hiding something.

Lott curiously opened the search box. As messages popped up one after another, he immediately understood the general situation.

As the police could not do anything, the Ian Family decided to take action personally.

Kill all those who were suspected...

The Ian Family was going to use assassins this time.

"It's really crazy."

Lott muttered softly.

"What's so crazy?"

Carly was still a little doubtful whether she should tell Lott that he was going to be hunted down.

"Of course, it's the Chicago Corporation. They want to exterminate all of us. But that's normal. The little b*stard was taught by the old b*stard."

Lott's tone was full of disdain.

Carly looked at him in surprise. It was as if she was asking how he knew what was going to happen.

Lott blinked innocently.

"This is very easy to deduce."

Carly looked at Lott as if she was looking at a monster.

What a joke! How could Lott deduce this!

Carly could not see through this man.

Lott did not continue to explain. He finished the breakfast happily under Carly's curious gaze.

After coming out of the interrogation room, the two of them did not speak again along the way.

Carly knew what he would face when he went out. She did not know what to say.

However, Lott did not care.

Carly led Lott out of the police station just like that.

At eight o'clock in the morning, there was plenty of sunlight illuminating the land.

James was already standing outside the police station waiting for the two of them. When he sensed someone coming out, he immediately looked in the direction of the sound.

James was the person in charge of this case. However, he was very conflicted.

As a police officer, no matter how James investigated the incident, it could only be classified as an accident. However, he knew that once the murderer was not found, many people would die.

James looked at Lott with a complicated gaze.

"Do you know that things have become very complicated now?"

Lott naturally knew.

"Whether you did it or not, this matter has blown up."

James walked to Lott's side and sat down. He took out a cigarette and lit it for himself. He took a puff and blew out a smoke ring.

"The Ian Family is furious now. As long as we can find the murderer, they're willing to pay half of the shares of the Chicago Corporation.

"Now that all the underworld organizations are taking action, you're considered safe in the police station.

"Once you go back, you'll immediately be kidnapped and tortured by them."

It seemed that Lott had made up his mind.

James said in a low voice while smoking, "If you're willing to stay in prison forever, I can guarantee your safety."

James' eyes flickered as he looked at Lott.

"I see."

Lott heard this and responded with a smile.

Seeing the other party's calm reaction, James narrowed his eyes slightly. He seemed to have thought of some secret matter.

"Since you don't care, then I have nothing to say."

Following that, James' expression was even more serious and solemn than before. His eyes were fixed on Lott.

"There's no one else here and I don't have any recording equipment on me.

"You don't have to admit anything.

"In these two accidents, you had obvious foresight and calculated all of this."

James continued.

Lott stood beside him and did not say anything. He just looked at James calmly.

"It's precisely because I understand that this society will have a genius like you.

"The higher-ups have specially sent people to investigate you.

"The current you, if you go out, it's a dead end. If you stay here, there's still a chance of survival."

James said successively. He wanted to see something different from Lott's expression.

However, James only saw that Lott was feeling excited, interested, and contemptuous!

What a f*cking lunatic!

James took a deep breath. What he just said had fallen onto deaf ears!
