UNKNOWN POV
"How could you've failed!" Q barked. She jumped back and trembled. Weak fuck. I scoffed and leaned on one foot, taking in the scene.
"Sir...I...I... I.. trie...
"You tried! We talk accomplishment in this operation, not attempts" He growled.
"They're boring me to death. Why doesn't he kill her already?"
"This looks more like a mother scolding her child for eating too much candy." I couldn't agree more with R.
"Give me another chance Sir. Let me prove myself. I swear, this time I'll end the game. I'll kill her with my bare hands." She blurted out in desperation. I leaned off the table and advanced towards them.
"Second chances are given to weak people, and we don't do weak," I smirked.
"What is going on here?" A deep voice boomed. We all stood at attention, with our chests puffed out and faces blank, just like robots.
"She failed the mission si.." Q started but was muted with a murderous look from the Boss.
"I don't want to hear it! I told you not to bring such minor complaints to me."
Q slightly shook from fear. He's fucked.
"Don't you know what to do or should I show you?!" He roared.
Without wasting a second, I took my gun from the holster and aimed it at the blonde kneeling on the floor.
"No! ple...
Too late. I pulled the trigger and smirked in satisfaction when blood splattered on the wall behind her now limp body. Just comforting.
"My favourite agent. Additional 150k to your account." I inwardly grinned, proud at how my income keeps on fluctuating daily.
"What do you say? You clear him, and I double the price?" He pointed to Q, whose eyes visibly widened, but still maintained his composure. I aimed at him, about to pull the trigger, until a big hand engulfed mine.
I swung my fist, ready to strike, but halted mid-air when I realised it was the Boss.
"That won't be necessary. I was just testing your loyalty. He's still not off the redline though, and I'll give you the order to send him to hell when I've decided. He may be a big fool, but we still need him in the game." He puffed out a huge smoke of Tobacco.
"So Agent J, tell me. What's your next plan?"
I smirked and turned my laptop towards him. Time to spice up a Del Varia.

SERAPHINA'S POV
"Mr Del Varia, I still think you should leave her with us for a...
"Not happening! we're not discussing this any further. This is the second time my daughter's life had been at risk, and all thanks to your recklessness and inexperience!"
I looked at the poor doctor in pity as dad lashed out at him. None of this was his fault, but unfortunately, my overprotective father couldn't care less.
"I will cease all donations to this hospital and sue you. So pray while you still have the time." He threatened.
"I don't think that'll be necessary dad. None of this was his fault, to begin with. How could you possibly blame him? Besides, if it weren't for him, do you think I'll be talking to you right now? You'd be talking about a funeral. Please stop giving the man a hard time." If I didn't intervene, all the doctor worked for his whole life would become a waste. Yes, my dad's that powerful.
Both men stared at me for a while. My dad with a cold expression and the doctor with one of extreme panic and nervousness. Way to go father. Dad appeared to be in some kind of contemplation. He finally sighed and stared at me with defeat.
"Fine, but you're not spending a millisecond in this pantry of a hospital."
The doctor went on to argue, but I curtly shook my head at him. Isn't he considerate of his family? My dad isn't one to be messed with. Once he makes a decision, nothing could make him go back on his words. Not even Camille Donna Del Varia, my mother, and the only person he'd give up the world for.
"What are you waiting for then? I'm game if you're. " I was already on my feet, with the doctor's help.
"Get your hands off her!" Dad barked. The poor man swiftly dropped my hands and went to open the door instead. I cast my father an annoyed glance but he smoothly ignored it.
"Thank you, Doc." I smiled. He frowned and looked away. Guess someone wasn't too thrilled with my discharge.
On exiting the hospital, the guards took me from my dad and opened the backseat. However, before I could step a foot in, I heard someone yelled my name. I looked up and saw a petite Nurse running towards me with a bouquet of flower in hand.
"I'm so sorry Miss Del Varia. Someone brought these flowers for you while you were asleep, but I didn't want to wake you." She panted. I took the bouquet of strong scented Roses and checked the card.
Get well soon.
Love, anonymous.
That's weird. I thanked her and went inside the car.
"Who's that?"
"Some nurse. Said someone gave her flowers to give me."
"Stupid boys." He murmured, but not quite enough to escape my hearing.
I leant my head on the window shield and dozed off.
"Madam, Madam."
I felt gentle taps on my arm. My eyes lazily fluttered open, taking in their surrounding.
"You're home ma'am." I rolled my eyes. I wish he would stop calling me titles.
"Please call me Seraphina, David." We've been through this countless times.
"Sure, no problem ma...Seraphina," he muttered in a low voice.
"Where's Dad?"
We left the hospital together, and he's nowhere to be seen now.
"Sir alighted at the company," David answered. I yawned and went inside, meeting my siblings in the living room.
Tiffany bolted at a hastening speed towards me, but Asher caught her by the waist before she could get any closer.
"Hey, you do...
"Careful Tiff, can't you see she's just been released from the hospital?" Asher scolded. I gave her a side hug and ruffled her hair, knowing how it annoys her. She slapped my hand away and scowled.
"Hey, you okay?" Asher hugged me and slung his arm over my shoulder. He guided me over to the couch, where a sleeping Severina laid, sprawled like a pancake mixture. This girl and laziness.
Asher raised his hand to wake her but I stopped him. It's about damn time she pays for her God-awful pranks. I took in a deep breath, and mentally counted to three before jumping on the couch. Her reaction was priceless. She squealed and jolted up, making me almost fall on my butt, but for Asher's firm grip on my mid-section.
"When I begged God for siblings, I didn't ask for this." He grumbled.
"Girl you scared me shitless." She placed a hand over her heavily heaving chest. I laughed and hugged her.
"I missed you."
"I missed you way more Sis. When did you arrive? Did you come alone? Are you o...
"Jesus Rina, breath!" Tiffany interrupted.
"Are you okay?" Severin asked in a much more even tone.
"Yeah." I nodded with a reassuring smile.
"We wanted to visit you in the morning, but Maleficent threw a fit and assigned us a never-ending task," Asher explained.
It didn't take a second for me to figure they were referring to Mom. I still can't believe she hadn't stepped a foot in the hospital since I got admitted. I always knew I wasn't her favourite person, but I didn't know the hate was this real.
"It's unbelievable She didn't visit you. I didn't even hear her talk about the incident." Tiffany narrated, and I didn't miss the look of disapproval from Asher.
" Don't give me that look, Ash
I'm just saying okay."
"Chill out guys. What Sera needs right now is rest, not stress. "
It wasn't until Severina mentioned it, did I notice myself swaying on the couch. The comfy cushions weren't helping the situation either.
" I'm gonna go take a nap. I feel battered." I fist-bumped them and headed to my room.
I opened the door and flopped down on the bed, almost moaning from the softness of the mattress. I've missed you, my baby.
Bing, bing, bing
Bing, bing, bing.
Stupid alarm. Unable to stand the disturbance any longer, I decided to wake my lazy ass and shut the damn device. I checked the clock on the wall, and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
01:02 am!
I slept for twelve hours. I trudged to the vanity, about to shut the stupid alarm until something caught my attention.
Dull, red lights occasionally flashed from the flower vase behind my eye-shadow palette. Wait, these were the same flowers given to me at the hospital. But who could've placed them here? I clearly remembered placing them in the bathroom. With a pounding heart, I cautiously put my hand inside the vase and felt about the bottom until my fingers came in contact with a soft material. I closed my eyes and pulled it out, taking a deep breath before reopening them. What I saw nearly made me scream my lungs out.
I threw the bloodied thing on the floor and frantically searched for the card which came along with the flowers. I opened it, only to be left astounded again. Different words were now scribbled inside. In blood-red ink.
"Watch out."
I threw the card and carried the vase to the bathroom, hiding it under the sink, where no one is sure to find it. I returned to the room and took in the bloodied mess on the floor.
What the hell?!
A human finger?
