Whenever someone from the upper class family left their homes, they would be followed by many knights and servants, sometimes even entertainers. However, Izekiel preferred to be alone and that's why his knights were comparatively less. 

The only reason he took them was because of the imperial protocol.

However, as the went further and further away from the palace, Nesrin noticed that their party became thinner.

The knights were probably ordered to keep a watch from the shadows. 

A flickering magical lamp burned inside her carriage, providing little warmth and slowly becoming less and less efficient as they climbed further in those rising winter peaks.

Her eyes turned heavy, and she pulled the furn cloak closer to seek some warmth. But no matter how much comfort it provided, and no matter how much tired she felt, Nesrin could not sleep.
