A Crimson Feast - III

The gates were closed by the guards as they resumed their positions as naturally as before. At the same time, the palace gates were shut down as well. A few horsemen wanted to join the feast that was open for all, but the could do so no more.

As the night turned cold, and the moon was engulfed by dark clouds, the merry music of the feast transcended into a gentler sound, like a soothing melody that could easily embrace one to their dreams.

It was near the time for the feast to end, all the guests that were intoxicated with wine had passed out on their places. Some of them were strong enough to hold their alcohol and too zealous to fall asleep but their numbers were too few compared to the peacefully sleeping guests.

The soft mist of cold night, along with the nostalgic lullaby created a dreamy air of serenity. It passed through the walls and lulled more and more guests to the silent sleep.

Nesrin watched the room with in an inexplicable hesitation.
