Chapter 6

As Yuji and the others reached the end of the narrow path, they stopped and stared at the tall tree in front of them, with a tall wall behind it.

"So, where do we go from here?" Elizabeth asked.

"Do we get back inside?" Layla asked.

"No," Yuji replied, "We go here," he takes a few steps backward as if preparing for a run.

Yuji took a deep breath and quickly dashed and jumped towards the tree, in mid-air, he then used his left foot to spring up higher by landing his feet on the tree, making him go across the tall wall.

Yuji landed safely on the ground.

He quickly stood up and checked his surroundings, "this place looks like a wide empty backyard of the school," he said.

Yuji sees an entrance to a building. The entrance was a closed glass door, reflecting light from the sky, being unable to see through from a distance.

As he takes a few steps forward, he suddenly stops in fear, sudden sweat of nervousness came crawling down from his face, knowing of what hurdle might await them as he saw a horrible sight.

Meanwhile at the other's perspective.

"How are we going to do that?" Jaspher asked.

"Don't you remember?" Ryan replied, "We just injected ourselves earlier, we should be able to make it to the other side with one jump,"

"Oh yeah... I actually forgot about that," said Layla.

"tsk, he even knew that too, that's why he didn't bother saying anything and just jumped," Ryan said as he jumped with no step back, making it easily across.

"All right! I'm going next," Jaspher said as he stepped back and ran for a jump.

"He's amazing, isn't he?" Elizabeth said.

"Who?" Layla asked.

Jaspher safely crossed the wall.

"Yuji..." Elizabeth said, making Layla stunned, "I mean...despite having no ability and having the status of being the lowest... he seems to be a vital role in our surviving, don't you think?" she said looking at Layla.

"Now that you mention it..." Layla replied, "we have been following him without thinking too much, maybe because of his knowledge in these kinds of situations..."

"And despite being called a weakling..." Elizabeth said, taking steps forward closer to the wall, "for a second, he made us think that he was superior to us... Now that I think about it, I don't know... if right now we're on the same level or he's actually more valuable than me..." She said as Layla remained speechless.

hearing what Elizabeth said, Layla had a sudden burst of thoughts and questions in her head.

"Now that I think about it..." Layla thought, "The school's hierarchy was fully based on the level of the student's class, or was it just the student's own discrimination?" She thought as she stood beside Elizabeth, "He was called a weakling, the lowest of the low...why... was he called like that?"

Layla and Elizabeth held hands, and together, they jumped across the wall.

After they safely landed, they looked around and saw Ryan and Yuji Standing frozen in front of the glass door leading to the entrance of a building, as Jaspher was behind them looking completely nervous and confused.

"What's going on?" Elizabeth asked.

"Well... it seems like the two of them saw something and are whispering to each other right now..." Jaspher replied.

"Guys..." Yuji turned around, "We got good news and bad news..."

"The good news is, the east testing facility is right across this building," said Yuji.

"And the bad news?" Layla asked.

"Is that the east testing facility is right across THIS building," said Ryan, sounding disappointed.

"Huh?" Jaspher said, "what do you..."

"Come and take a look," said Yuji, interrupting Jaspher.

Jaspher walked closer.

"And make sure you don't scream," said Ryan.

Jaspher swallowed, showing signs of nervousness as he slowly moved forward.

Moving forward, he looked in the direction where Yuji and Ryan were staring.

"It's a glass door, the entrance to this building, right?" Jaspher said As Ryan and Yuji remained silent, seeming cautious.

Jaspher moved closer until he was able to see clearly what was behind the glass door.

"TH... THAT'S!" Jaspher quickly held his hand over his mouth, he stopped his scream from coming out as Yuji and Ryan stared at him as if they were ready to stop him from screaming.

What they saw behind the glass door was a gruesome display of multiple dead students lying down on the floor, with scattered blood all around the hall.

"What the heck..." Jaspher said in a shaky voice.

"What's going on?" Layla said as she approached them with Elizabeth behind her.

Layla and Elizabeth suddenly froze with fear as soon as they saw what was behind the glass door.

"And the east testing facility is just on the other side too..." Elizabeth said in a shivering and terrified voice.

Right after she spoke, everyone felt at a loss.

As Elizabeth was thinking of what was going to happen, she started staring at Yuji expecting hope from him.

As Ryan, Layla, and Jaspher were in the same situation, they saw Elizabeth staring hard at Yuji as if she was looking at a slot machine hoping to get something good, then eventually everyone was staring right at Yuji.

While everyone was looking at Yuji, his eyes were closed, and was breathing deeply.

"info..." Yuji whispered, He suddenly raised his head and faced everyone, "we need info..." he suddenly stopped as he notices everyone's stare, looking at him before he said anything.

"what? What's the idea?" Ryan said.

"Not an idea yet..." Yuji said, "but we're not going to get anywhere by just standing here in despair..."

"Then what should we do?" Elizabeth asked.

"Hope you're not planning anything crazy like running through the hall again," Jaspher said sounding nervous.

"As I said, this isn't an idea, but something we should do," Said Yuji, "Check everything, we need information right now," Yuji moved forward closer to the door, "we need to get information on everything around so we could think of an idea, that's what I think we should do,".

"What do you mean?" Layla asked.

"In order to know what to do, first let's find out about our current situation," Yuji said as he was staring hard at the corpses inside the halls from the outside of the door.

"Why are you staring so hard at those dead bodies?" Layla asked, looking disgusted, averting her gaze, "some parts of the bodies were crushed and at a really nasty state, I can't even look a few seconds without getting sick,".

"Your right..." Yuji said, "These are pretty nasty... One guy's body seemed like it was thrown really hard over the pile of bodies and hit the wall, making his head splat blood all over that wall at the end. There is also this one guy, who got his head bashed really hard against the wall, along with his broken neck, I say he got hit really hard... And there is also that one girl..."

"STOP IT!" Layla interfered, "I know I said I don't want to look but I can imagine, you know!? why are you doing this?" Layla said in a teary voice.

"Because it will help us know what we're dealing with here," said Yuji, "the corpses are fresh too, they didn't die by getting bitten and turned, they got horribly massacred by something powerful,".

Yuji stood straight, backing from the door, "Well, judging from the fact that these many were dead in horrible ways, we can say that this wasn't a doing of a horde, especially low classes,"

"And for an Akuma to be able to kill students with specialized weapons..." Yuji said, looking serious.

"Wait what!?" Ryan said in surprise, he then quickly looks closer through the window and observed "What the!? they... had specialized weapons!?"

"Then there's no doubt..." Jaspher said in a shaky voice, "we're talking about a high class here, aren't we?"

"The corpses didn't make it near the door," said Yuji, "and there are no signs of the door being moved in this kind of a mess,".

"Are you saying we're safe here outside?" Ryan said.

"Not safe but definitely in less danger," Yuji replied, "as long as we don't encounter whatever done this...".

"But how are we going to get to the facility then?" Layla asked.

"Look around, the Akuma must still be inside, maybe we can get an alternative route, without encountering it," said Yuji.

Everyone looked around and carefully approached windows, with the thought that an Akuma might be beside one.

Yuji along with Ryan moved to the right carefully and saw something that took their attention on the ground.

"Huh? is that..." Yuji said, "Blood!?"

Yuji and Ryan were surprised and confused, finding blood on the ground near the entrance.

"Wait, Why? The entrance clearly hasn't been touched!" Said Yuji.

Ryan tried to open a window for the possibility that someone opened the window and gotten out.

"The windows are open!" said Ryan, "But there's no sign of someone or something going out, the classroom is clean and untouched..."

"Besides that window, maybe the one's abo..." Yuji stood silent, looking up, as fear and tension grabs a hold of his whole body, making him stiff.

He saw a broken window with bloodstains above the first-floor window Ryan opened, where the blood lies on the ground.

The window looked like as if something of huge size broke out, shattering the glass, dripping with blood.

As he figured it out, Ryan and Yuji saw something come out of the corner from a distance.

A large arm popped out from the corner of the building, which seemed to be an alternative path beside the main entrance.

Followed by a large body, yet smaller than the massive arm, the large-sized Akuma fully came out of the corner, looking directly at them with gruesome eyes.

"Don't tell me..." Ryan said, his voice being slightly shaken.

"We're in big trouble," said Yuji

The Akuma seemed to be just below 6 feet tall, and had a shape and form of a gorilla, except its arms were overly sized, and bigger than the body, with over grown veins on its head covering one of its eyes, making its single eye glare dreadfully at them.

"That's!" said Yuji, as he suddenly notices the form the Akuma is taking, as if the Akuma was about to take off or run.

The Akuma used its two enormous hands to grip the ground in front of it, as it steps back a bit, making its arms seem like a sling shot.

"WAHTCH OUT!" Yuji said as he jumped quickly on the side.

Right as Yuji shouted, the Akuma came dashing at a very high speed towards Yuji and Ryan.

Ryan managed to dodge the Akumas dash, due to Yuji's warning.

But they didn't notice that only they had a clear vision of the Akuma, as a certain someone was behind them, who did not get a clue on what was happening.

Right after dodging, Yuji and Ryan looked back, seeing a certain someone unable to move due to shock, with the feeling of hopelessness.

BANG* CRASH*

"JASPHER!!" Yuji shouted, not realizing Jaspher had been right behind them when the Akuma appeared.

Jaspher came flying at a high speed, he hits the wall hard, enough for the wall to have cracks, as his body fell sitting down on the ground, slouching beside the wall.

Blood dripped from Jasphers head, as his head looks down on the ground, not moving a single inch.

"Is he..." Elizabeth said seeming like she was about to cry, in a teary voice.

"Elizabeth!" Layla grabs Elizabeth's hand and gripped it tightly, as she looks at her directly in the eyes saying, "keep it together!"

Elizabeth straightened her face and faced their situation.

As the Akuma stopped, by drifting its feet hardly on the ground, it stopped from its very fast dash.

It was the worst possible scenario. The Akuma they feared and hoped not to face, came crashing in front of them, making them face it, along with taking away one of their Allies.

"Our luck must have really sucked," said Yuji, "the worst possible scenario we were trying to avoid just came forcing it's way here..."

"But there's nothing we can do" said Ryan, " If we want to survive..."

"We have to face this!"
