Chapter 34

Yukina stood still being on guard, as she points the sharp end of her spear between Yuji's eyes.

" I think you'll understand better if I told you what happened yesterday," Yuji said, slowly calming down as he tries to stand up, "this will be a long story so..."

"Stay there!" Yukina shouted as she points the spear closer to his head, " we're not moving until you explain everything...".

"She's shaking... she tries to hide it but I could definitely notice her legs shivering," Yuji thought, " this reaction is far from what I expected, she seems... so afraid,".

"Are you going to talk or what?" Yukina said.

Yuji took a deep breath, "I'll talk, but like I said, this will be a long story...".

"As long as it explains this, I'm ok with that..."

And so, Yuji told everything that seemed important, to understand the situation he's in, regarding what he was like before the chaos, and what happened to him and Elizabeth, up until the point where they met.

"That's..." Yukina said, being confused, she took deep breaths as she started to calm down little by little, "you were a person with little to no ability, just an ability to prevent you from sickness... but having a military for a parent that trains you and gives you useful info regarding these situations can explain how you survived, somehow..."

"Then..." Yuji said as he was about to stand up.

"BUT!" Yukina shouted, quickly bringing back Yuji to the floor, "the part on how you got immuned... that's just... hard to believe!".

"I knew it..." Yuji said, "It's completely understandable why you wouldn't believe that... but it's the truth! that's the reason for this promise I'm fulfilling,".

"Promise?"

Yuji nodded, "Yes, Elizabeth told me to make her an Akuma and let her bite me, that way I might be able to carry her ability with me as her gift..."

"Once again... that sounds really crazy..."

Yuji looked down the floor as he starts to feel anxious, "If that's not enough to convince her then... I don't know what to do..."

"Yet... it still sounds plausible enough to be true..." said Yukina, "you did seem to act like you owe this girl a lot… you lying about her death would just be…"

Yuji raised his head and looked directly at Yukina with hope.

"Let me just ask one question," Yukina said, "do you... have any urge to bite me?"

"No, I don't," Yuji said with no hesitation, "If I did, I would have already eaten you while you were completely defenseless and sound asleep," Yuji said as he looked at her thighs, noticing that she was not shaking anymore, "she's not shaking... that's good..."

Smack*

Suddenly, the spear floated above Yuji's head then quickly smacked him with the back of the spear.

"AW! WHAT THE!?" Yuji said holding the back of his head, in pain.

"You..." Yukina said, seeming angry and embarrassed, "where do you think you're looking at while you were saying that!?" she shouted.

"Huh?" Yuji said, being confused.

"..."

"..."

"pervert..."

"..."

"..."

Yuji then realized what he had done.

"WAIT! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!" Yuji said, being embarrassed, "I was just noticing how your legs aren't shaking anymore!"

Yukina's expression didn't seem to change.

"Crap, I guess that didn't help..." Yuji thought, "Umm..."

Suddenly, Yuji began to feel heavy.

"huh? what's this... I feel... wrong..." his vision started to blur a little, as he felt his head beginning to lighten.

"Hey... are you ok?" Yukina said, noticing something was off.

"The syringe..." Yuji thought.

Yuji remembers Elizabeth's advice to take a shot after getting bitten.

"Hey..." Yukina said.

Yuji ignored her and quickly searched for a syringe in Elizabeth's purse.

"Yes, there's still one!" Yuji said as he pulls out the syringe and then injected himself with it.

"You told me this... that you need to inject yourself after you get bitten, is this what happens when you don't do it immediately?" Yukina asked.

Yuji began to pant, as he finished injecting himself, "I... maybe..." Yuji said as he fainted on the floor, vaguely hearing Yukina calling him.

"Hey! Hey! Yuji!".

And so, Yuji completely lost consciousness.

As he fainted, he began having visions, seeming like a dream.

"What... this again...."

Yuji fell deeper into the memories flashing, like a dream into his head.

"Ugh, is that all they can do?"

"Must be hard on the family to have twins,"

"Yeah, they definitely split the strength one person should have had,"

"The family had a good career on being strong too, too bad,"

murmurs of people surrounded his ears, as Yuji felt the pressure of the people surrounding the person in his perspective.

"Ugh! what is this!" Yuji thought as he felt the pain and sadness the person was suffering.

"What is this... another memory... it's not mine..." Yuji said.

As Yuji continued to feel the despair the person was feeling, a sudden light put a stop to his pain.

As Yuji sees the light, he tried to grab it, as he gets closer, he felt a gentle warmth that calmed down the anxiety and pain he felt.

"This feels... comforting..."

Yuji gets a good look at the warm memory and was shocked by the person he saw.

"Is this!?"

A young woman with thick and long wavy hair and a familiar face appeared right in front of him.

"E... Elizabeth..."

The girl from the memory began to talk as he hears the conversation.

"Hey... don't mind them, ok?" the girl said.

"Yeah..." the person from Yuji's perspective said, wiping the tears on her face.

"This voice..." Yuji thought.

"Hey, hey, it's ok... I'm here, we're in this together ok?" she said with a smile holding the girl's hand.

"Thanks, Layla, you're the best sis..."

"HUH!?" Yuji said in shock, "it's Layla... then that means, this memory is..."

Yuji gasped as he suddenly awoke from his sleep.

He sat up and placed his right hand above his head.

"Was that..." Yuji said, being confused by what he experienced.

He began to look around and started to gain back his composure, "for now I should think about what just happened, let's see... I fainted and then..."

"Where's Yukina?" Yuji said as he looked around, noticing nobody was inside the room.

"Now that I noticed, I'm... on a bed... where's Elizabeth's body?" Yuji thought as he stood up, "What's going on..."

Creek*

The door located at the end of the room opened as Yukina walked inside the room wearing different clothes than she had before.

"So, you're finally up," Yukina said as she stood beside the door, "so? any weird feeling?".

"Yeah, really weird, " Yuji replied, putting Yukina on guard, "don't worry, I don't think it's something you should be worried about..."

"What do you mean?" she asked.

Yuji placed his hand on his head, hesitating to answer, "umm... never mind, I might be imagining things..."

"Is that so?" Yukina replied, "Then let's go,".

"Go? where?" Yuji asked, " wait, can you explain what's happening first? where's Elizabeth? how long was I out?".

"you've been out for about half a day," she said, "come, I'll explain to you on the way, we should probably get you new clothes first though,".
