Chapter 42

"These noises..." Yuji said, hearing what seemed to be a vicious battle from a distance.

"Is she... facing that thing alone?" Yuji said, as he slowly tried to get back on his feet.

"My body... it feels so light!" he said, moving his arms randomly, "it's like I wasn't even injured..." touching his stomach, feeling no damage.

"It feels like I just woke up from a dream..." Yuji said, "but what happened definitely stuck in my head,".

CRASH*

Suddenly a loud sound of destruction filled the area.

"Yukina!" Yuji suddenly had a sense of worry and tried to go straight in Yukina's direction.

"Gather energy..." A familiar female voice emerged in his head.

"It's you!" Yuji thought, hearing the voice out of nowhere.

"Explanation can wait, feel the energy around you and gather those into a certain form," the voice said, "there's still time, don't underestimate Yukina... you won't stand a chance otherwise,".

"Gather energy..." Yuji said, "I guess I have no choice," he closed his eyes and focused his senses to feel a certain element.

"Once you know its existence you should probably see it," the voice said in a fading tone.

Yuji slowly opened his eyes, seeing nothing at first, he got frustrated, but after a short moment, luminous blue lights started to appear in his sight.

"I see... the more I focus at looking at these the more they become clear," Yuji said.

"Wait a sec..." Yuji thought, closing his eyes one at a time, "I can only see these things from my left eye... now that I think about it, it feels kinda odd..."

CRASH*

"I guess there's not much time thinking," Yuji said as he began to run towards the sound.

"Gather the energy... into a certain object..." Yuji said as the luminous blue lights gathered towards his back forming a spear-like object, "and to make it simple... make it exactly like what that thing has!" Yuji said, speeding up his pace towards the nearby sound, as his left eye turned back to normal unnoticeably.

Earlier from Yukinas perspective.

"Eat this!" Yukina shouted as she threw a massive amount of long metal objects coming from multiple directions of the Archdemon.

"I haven't injected myself a full shot in a while... and the last time I did, I never got to know my limit," Yukina thought, "I guess now is the best time!".

The Archdemon dodged and deflected the massive amount of metal objects coming at it, as it continued to get a closer distance from Yukina.

"I can just keep gaining distance by flying away as I keep throwing these things back to back at it, and add more to it if I want..." she thought, "but it probably won't end like this... I got a time limit, and meanwhile…"

She stared aggressively at the Arch Demon.

"Then..." Yukina said as two floating cars floated beside her along with two spear-like metals.

"Right now... in this ruined city..." Yukina said as she position the objects floating around her, "Is my strongest state yet!"

Yukina threw the cars at the Archdemon, the Archdemon then seemed to wait for the right moment to dodge or deflect.

"Now!" Yukina said, as the spear-like objects, she positioned some distance above the cars, quickly began to move, "At this speed, if I hit the gas tank directly it's sure to cause a spark,".

The Spears then hit the tanks of the cars before they hit the ground as the Archdemon stood before it.

"Perfect!" Yukina said.

BOOM*

The cars exploded right before the Archdemon.

As the explosion covered the area with smoke a sudden long object came rushing out of the mist.

Yukina was surprised, reacting as quickly as she can, she was able to deflect the attack using a rectangular metal plate she got from inside a random building.

"I can use most of the things around this ruined city," Yukina said as she stared at the fading smoke, "getting me off guard won't be that easy..."

As the smoke completely fades, the long object came back to its source.

"So those things on your back can extend..." Yukina said, "how many damn cards do you have!?"

Yukina raised her hands as a vast amount of metal objects floated behind her.

The Archdemon demon stood still on the ground looking directly at her.

Suddenly, as if time had stopped Yukina began to have thoughts, "why is she standing still... it's stance and looks... something's off,"

"wait... how long have we been doing this..."

with a sudden realization, Yukina switched from attacking to wanting to defend as fast as possible.

"It recharged! and the only thing I can use is this rectangular metal plate!" Yukina said as she began to reach out for the plate near her.

"There's still the thought of what it's going to do..." Yukina thought, "a thrust or a swing, I have no choice but to trust my instincts and this plate..."

She held the plate tightly, "he was able to react to that things attack... I CAN DO THIS!" she thought, filled with a burning desire to survive regarding the very difficult situation.

"Do it! observe!" Yukina thought, "notice every little detail! and react!" she shouted in her mind, "I won't be able to go along with its speed, I need to react before and predict its movement!"

The Archdemon began to slowly make little movements.

"That position, that stare, that slight movement, ALL OF IT!".

And in a split second, both moved at the highest speed possible.

"IT'S!!" Yukina said as the Archdemon reached her front at lightning speed, "A SWING!".

SMACK*

Yukina placed the rectangular metal plate beside her as fast as she could.

Barely making it, Yukina blocked the Archdemon's attack.

"I GOT IT!" Yukina thought, but after a quick sense of achievement, the heavyweight blow of the impact at lightning speed burst through the metal plate, making Yukina fly across the area and hit a wall with her back.

"AGH!" Yukina groaned, she then quickly tried to regain her footing, "It could have been worse if it had hit me directly," she said regaining her balance.

Crash*

Suddenly, the Archdemon dropped down from the sky, some distance from Yukina.

"Not giving me time to breathe, are we..." Yukina said, "I don't know if I'll be able to take another one of that..." her eyes began to glow brighter as she clenches her fist beside her.

The Archdemon felt a threat from Yukinas stance and stood still in front of her on full guard.

"It's not coming?" Yukina thought, sensing the metal bars inside the brick building "damnit... if that's the case then let's try this one!"

Yukina began to focus more as she tries to do something.

The Archdemon felt this and changes its stance, as if it was going to move, "this thing's instincts are on a whole new level!" Yukina thought.

"Come on!" Yukina shouted.

Suddenly, a certain presence entered the area, quickly changing the direction of the Archdemon's attention.

"It looked away?" Yukina said, "It never looked away from me since we started fighting... what could..." she then looked to her left, where the Archdemon was looking, and as she looked.

DASH*

Someone dashed quickly to Yukina's front, drifting his feet, stopping himself from going further over his speed.

"I barely made it to where I aimed to be..." Yuji said, "this new speed... it'll take a little while to get used to,".

Yukina then slowly faced forward, her eyes enlarged with a sense of joy, as he sees Yuji fully healed, and with an unknown holographic-like object attached to his back, similar to the Archdemon's.

"I so got a lot of questions for you..." Yukina said smiling, "but first of all... can you, handle her for a moment?".

"You got a plan?" Yuji asked.

Yukina nodded as her eyes went brighter, "though I never did something like this before, I think I could pull it off,".

"Guess I'll just trust you," Yuji said.

Not making any clear eye contact, they both decided to move according to the movements of the other.

"I think you noticed, but I got some power-up thanks to that stab she did to me," Yuji's eyes began to glow bright red as the holographic object on his back began to look clearer, "I'm going to test this out...".

"Don't be too reckless," Yukina said, then they both dashed in a separate direction.

The Archdemon's eyes followed Yuji as he went running to the left.

"As I thought, it's going to go after me," Yuji said, "that's perfect,".
