Ivy's POV
The sun set pretty quick, though I didn't move an inch. I knew I could've been at home by now, if I moved... I didn't move... I would rather sit still than run around the place because with my luck- I would've only been going deeper into the forest.
I knew one thing for sure, I was still hungry, the berry's kept me alive, though a this point, I've finished all the berry's in this area... there wasn't any left except for the last one in my hand, which I was currently staring at.
Yes, it was tasty, but if I were to eat the last one now... what puke I have tomorrow. I didn't properly think that through when I finished everything else... who knows how long I'll be stuck here... deserted one the middle of no where.
There was one thing I hated a lot here though, that was insects... I haven't seen one yet, but I knew they were still there.
I thought that when nightfall hits, it would've been cold, though I felt perfectly warm. There was something that bothered me though, the fact that the outside of my clothes were freezing.
I didn't mind it that much... at least I was warm.
The texts I kept sending never seemed to deliver and the calls just kept going to voicemail, leaving me frustrated.
Getting up, I motivated myself enough to at least try and find a way back. As I walked through the trees and bushes, I kept stumbling... the branches were scattered everywhere along with mud, making me slip at some points.
I didn't know if I was going the right way or not... all I knew was that I was moving, instead of jus laying there. There wasn't anything there, not even a single edible thing. The only thing I could eat was on my hand and I wasn't about to let it go too soon.
A small noise brought me out of my clouded thoughts. Shifting my gaze down, I was met with a pair of small piecing blue eyes. They seemed so captivating I almost got lost in them for a second. The kitten's fur was as dark as night, making the combination perfect.
Kneeling down, I pulled the little one into my arms, watching as it didn't move, just cuddled closer. Her fur was so soft, I wanted to pet her forever.
It seemed so tiny, making me believe it was a new born. She must've been alone all this time, with no one else to accompany her. I guess we can understand each other's situation.
"Hey, girl" I murmured softly, seeing as she stared at me, waiting for something, though I didn't know what "what's with the look?"
She didn't move an inch away, instead she just laid her head near me, closing her eyes, probably sleepy. I knew for a fact I wanted to keep her and it was going to take hours of convincing, but hopefully mom's gonna agree.
Getting off of the ground, I started making my way towards what I presumed was the nearest escape from this horror scene. It didn't take long for me to realize I've been walking around in circles all this time... great.
Grabbing my phone, I decided to check if the texts were delivered yet... I mean, there might've been reception at some point, but no... nothing.
I knew for a fact I was stranded, there was no denying it. Even if I was fooling to get out, I was going to take the cutie pie in my arms with me.
I'm going to name her... Dusk... yeah, that it. Dusk.
Dusk fit her perfectly because her eyes looked like stars while her fur looked like the night sky, shining as the moon reflected on its smoothness. Dusk meant nightfall... and it felt right to call her that.
I knew when- if I get back, Reta and Ian are going to argue with the name, though I wasn't going to change it. It's not like we named everything together... like in kindergarten, Reta named some pup we found on the road 'Fred' what kind of name is Fred? It's a pup not a man...
Maybe it was a ware-puppy... or maybe I just watch too much teen wolf, you'll never know.
I was honestly getting somewhat tired as I kept walking, not stopping for a second. As I took one more step, I could feel my leg getting stuck in some hole, catching me off guard.
I tried to pull it up, not dropping the sleeping Dusk as I did so. It was no use, it seemed to be completely stuck. Letting out a sigh, I leaned down, holding Dusk in one hand, while I tried to get my leg out with the other.
It was stuck between two rocks, making it so I couldn't take it off. Looking up, I moved my panicking eyes over the place trying to find anything that could help- and I did. My eyes caught her another rock, laying close by. Reaching over I grabbed it, trying to smash the rock near my leg, making at least some noise, though Dusk was sound asleep.
It took a while but the rock cracked a bit, giving me some hope as I kept on hitting it. I didn't notice it had already broke, till I hit it one last time, only to land on my own ankle. I made sure to put force on all the hits, so it wouldn't have surpassed me if it hurt... yes 'it wouldn't have'
Looking down, a shocked look was plastered on my face, seeing as I didn't feel a thing. For a second, I thought my leg was broken. I thought I hit it so hard it went numb, but no. It seemed to be in perfect shape as I ran my hand over it.
My brows furrowed as I moved my foot around a bit, not feeling a thing. I knew it was dumb, but I couldn't resist. Grabbing the rock, I went and did a little experiment of my own, smacking my leg harder.
If a normal person were here, they'd think I went crazy, but I didn't. My leg didn't feel a thing, even when I moved it around. Placing the circular shape back down, I got up, ready to keep going with my unharmed leg.
Mom would've smacked me, if she found out I did what I just did, but what she won't know, won't hurt her. Whoever said that might've been smacked by their mom, but that's not my problem to worry about.
