I looked at the man to make sure it wasn't a dream. But it wasn't, this was the man who I saw outside my window yesterday. Why is he here and what does he want with me?
"Are you Kizzy?" He asked me.
"Why does that matter, who are you?" I asked him.
"My name is Ash, now are you Kizzy?" He asked me getting impatient.
"Yeah I'm Kizzy," I told him.
"Good, you're coming with me. I'm going to take you to a safer place than here, a place where you won't feel like a prisoner," he said as he was taking off the straps wrapped around my wrists.
"I'm not leaving without Jane."
He looked over at Jane with sad eyes and looked back at me. "She can't come. She killed two people and they will track her down and kill anyone in their way just to get to her," he explained to me. I looked at Jane with sad eyes and she looked at me. She gave me a small smile and nodded her head at me and mouthed 'go' to me.
"Okay I'll go with you. But only if you promise that it'll actually be a safer place than here," I said to him.
"I guarantee you that where we are going you will be safe," he told me with a warm smile. He helped me out of the chair and we walked to the doors. I took one last look at Jane before leaving, then she was gone. We walked down a long hall following the exit signs until we got to the door that lead to the outside. Ash opened the door and I was met with a bright light that blinded me.
"I take it that you haven't been outside for a very long time," he said with a giggle.
"Not since I've been here," I said as my eyes started to adjust to the bright sun. "That was twelve years ago."
"Well where we're going you can go outside whenever you want, as long as you stay near the house."
House? Is he taking me to a shelter of some kind? I don't care what it is, as long as it's safe and better looking than this place I don't care what kind of building it is. We walked up to this white work van with tinted windows parked across the street. He told me to sit up in the front with him since he has stuff in the back that he forgot to take out before coming here.
We were on the road in the middle of no where, surrounded by trees. It was dark and we were driving for five hours now and the woods were looking really creepy like a scene from a horror movie.
"Not far now, don't worry you can stretch your legs when we get there," Ash said as he took a turn on a dirt road. I was looking forward to stretching out my legs. They became numb two hours ago but didn't want to say anything. The seats were really stiff and uncomfortable, but I didn't want to tell him that considering he just saved my life from the orphanage. The truck stopped and I looked up and out the window to see a house sitting in front of us.
"Well here we are," Ash said as he put the truck in park. "Welcome to your new home Kizzy."
