"Dr. Charles, will he be alright?" A nurse asked while staring at the electrocardiographic heart monitor going at the same pace for the last two years.
He is pitiful, isn't he? Once a veteran, they say he lost his mind after the war, and he never recovered. He went home on a crazy rant about the government and killed his own family.
"maybe he is pretending to be in a coma to avoid jail," The nurse said without remorse.
Definitely impossible; he would have moved at one point; no one can lie for this long, besides the shifts of his eyebrows seem like he is having a terrible nightmare. His condition is getting better, neither is it any worse.
The Doctor proceeds with his normal procedure, which involves checking on the patient's heartbeats and making sure the patient is comfortable. On the other hand, the nurse had a disgusted face, and one could easily spot the hatred she had for the man lying in the hospital bed.
.......
Birds above the treeline were restless as they fly around rapidly; after their movement, the forest became quiet hell. Who knows if this is even a forest or if the animal that made such birdlike movements were even birds.
I laid there in what I considered my camouflage. After years of practice, you become an expert; Shalom was even more impressive; her camo was impressive too, almost like she had done the same training I went to years back, but she quickly disproves my way of thinking by saying her father was a hunter. He taught her how to make camos.
Hunter of men, I am guessing, but I didn't ask any more questions as we continue to watch for movements in between trees.
It didn't take long when a figure came running towards us, and three other figures came running right behind him; they looked terrified like something or someone was chasing them; my foot in my boots became cold, but I didn't make a sound.
Jeepers creeper, Not just one. They were three of em f**kers. I have only seen the movies, and back then, they weren't scary enough. It flew down and picked one of the guys running up into the trees, and his voice was the last thing heard.
I didn't move my head but use my peripherals to look over at Shalom; she was shaking because one of the creepers stood right in front of her camo; he sniffed around her camo as if he sensed her fear, the maggot in-between is tooth dropped unto her camo.
You know when they say," People only cry to God when they need him," well, they were not wrong. I was praying, and I haven't prayed in years. Like an answer to my prayer, the creepers notice another group of people, it immediately chased after and the other two continued after their previous prey.
Oh no, I wasn't praying for Shalom; I was praying for myself; I knew they could sense her; it will be just as easy to sense me too.
After Thirty minutes of staying steel, I finally got out of my camo; I was hungry, and I needed food, but that was the last thing on my mind. I wanted to be out of here; I don't want anything to do with this shitty game.
"Oh my, so many people are dead on just the first day; since we can't watch you all die like this, ladies and gentle consider yourself lucky you shall all receive a weapon, but the monster you will face will even worse."
The voice came into my head, and everyone could hear it too.
"some people tried to play smart by meeting up and grouping with more than three people well their fate warning to those that think about making more than three members or to those team helping each other death is inevitable hahaha hahaha."
I will kill whoever is making me do this; I said in my head as if I could even get out of here alive.
Shalom stood up and began to walk deeper into the forest; I grabbed her hand and pushed her towards one of the trees.
You know something tell me what is going on?
You don't remember, do you? she asked with a smile on her face
Her smile gave me chiles before I wasn't sure if she knew anything, but now I know she knows. In fact, from her smile, I can tell she knows me more than I know myself.
Rafael! Rafaaaaael!! Rafaeeeeeeeeel!!! You still can't Remember, or maybe this will help you, David Rogers, the man who killed his own family with his own hand, and this is the retribution he has to face.
NO! No!! Who are you? I knew that name; it is my name, but I don't remember anything going on. My body involuntarily slumped, then I looked at Shalom with surprise.
There was a needle in her hand; she had stabbed me in the neck, my vision only grew darker by the seconds.
