As soon as the door opened, the group saw that whatever was locked inside the door, was not what they thought it was. Behind the door, was not some gruesome monster, but were two humans. Two girls, one looked around her late teens and early twenties, while the other one looked to be around eight years old, which was around Ashes age.
Immediately after the door opened the older one hugged the smaller girl to try and defend her. Seeing this Johnathan felt bad. Would he save them, and have the two come with them? Would he and the rest protect the two? The answer was simple. Johnathan wouldn't play hero for random people anymore. It hurt him that he couldn't save them nor help them but what can he do. He already saved Ash, who is extra baggage at this point. If he brought two more people with him who were useless, they would end up just wasting supplies on them.
"We're not zombies, they're already dead. You guys don't have to worry"
Danny said as he tried calming the two girls down. After hearing what Danny said the older girl skeptically asked if they "Are really gone". Hearing this, Ivan quickly answered by sharing that the four of them easily killed them.
Johnathan looked at Ivan who sounded like he was bragging. He couldn't really blame him. The older girl was gorgeous. She had long chestnut colored hair, hazel eyes and a birthmark below her left eye. Not to mention the pink skirt and black sweater she was in. Overall, her sex appeal was something.
This however, didn't change Johnathan's mind. He decided to not help them. They had enough supplies but they still had their families. He would never save someone over those important to him. He was also greedy. He didn't want to share the supplies they got with hard work and share them for someone they didn't know. Especially when the only reason they were helping them was due to their looks.
"Finally. We're finally safe Darla"
The older of the two cried as she embraced the younger one tighter. Now that Johnathan could see how the younger one looked like, he noticed that they were siblings. She had short chestnut colored hair that went down to her shoulders, and had hazel colored eyes. She would have been the spitting image of the older girl if she had a birthmark under her eyes.
"Are we Sophia"
"Now then, we should leave before more zombies find their way here"
Listening to Marks suggestion, the two got up and walked back to the bike store with the four. Once they got to the store, the group walked up to the apartments. When they got up to the apartments, Johnathan opened the door to his apartment with the key he got form Mark.
Walking inside, the group saw Ash running towards Johnathan and the other three teenage boys with his arms open. Smiling, the three hugged Ash, who had been worried sick that something had happened to the three.
"We're good Ash. No need to worry"
Patting his head, Johnathan said calming the boy down.
Before the group did continued doing anything, Johnathan had to talk to his three friends. With that said, he politely told the two girls, Sophia and Darla, along with Mark to got out of the apartment. Mark left without hesitation but the two girls were a different story. They had a bad feeling and were scared of what the talk was going to be about. But in the end they left the apartment for the three teenagers to talk.
"What you need to talk about" Ivan questioned with a confused expression.
"We need to talk about what's going to happen in the future. We cant keep helping people and taking them in. Ash will be the first and last person we can save for a longtime."
With out hesitating, Johnathan said what was on his mind.
"Bro, we cant leave two helpless girls to fend for themselves, can we?"
"Danny, we already saved Ash. If we help anymore people, we'll end up being an orphanage for people. We cant possibly help people who wont provide or help us. We'll already be busy trying to help our family members. We cant keep playing hero. Danny, would you put your family and close friends before random people"
"N-No, of course not. But we have the strength to help them. Why don't we"
"Because I don't want to waste resources that can save our lives for people who are useless"
Hearing Johnathan say that shocked Danny. He was being too cold hearted, and Danny couldn't understand why. They had the strength to deal with zombies, they could always get supplies. So why?
"Why"
"Because they're useless. I don't want to waste supplies that we earn with our hard work for ourselves and family members for people who just wont do anything. Danny, this isn't a movie. We cant be heroes and end up helping everyone we see. Those two girls, they wont help us in any possible way. They would just leech off of us"
"Hmm, good point. Johnathan's right Danny. This isn't some movie. The only reason I can think of for saving the two is the older girl. I thought if we saved them, Sophia, or whatever her name was, would give us a reward. But even then, would sex be better than life saving supplies. For that reason I agree with Johnathan. Helping useless people, especially now, is too hard"
"Ivan! How can you say something like that. That's basically rape"
"No its not Danny. If she offers her body, its not rape. At most it would be prostitution. Plus, right now I doubt anyone, especially criminals are following the laws. And I only said what she'd be useful at. Not something I would actually do, or would I? Anyways, we're not helping them"
Ivan and the other were teens. They would jump at any chance to lose their virginities to a girl who would happily offer it. He was young and horny. Would he actually rape someone? No, of course he wouldn't. He wasn't a monster and had sisters himself. He wouldn't want his sister being raped, so why would he do it to someone. He wasn't a monster.
"What do you say Danny. Will you agree with me and Ivan, or play hero by yourself"
Id Danny kept insisting to help the two girls, Johnathan and Ivan would separate from him. Thought it would hurt them, it wouldn't be a hard choice. If Danny keeps wanting to play hero, he would end up getting the other two along with his family in trouble. Heroes have bad endings and are always on the giving end, and if Johnathan had to play the bad guy to keep those important to him alive, he would happily do it.
"I-"
