That feeling

Kahala couldn't sleep the night before the Sunday morning, for some reason she was excited for it to arrive. She was excited to have Amas over, he was sweet and cute and what not but it was too early for her to know if she was in love with him or not. After all it only had been a week since they met and knew each other, but it did not change the fact that he was exceptionally well behaved but knew how to counter when someone tried to attack him, also he had a great sense of humour. She got up and started to clean her room before bathing, looking at this her mother asked, "Kahala, dear you never clean that mess up. What's going on?" She had a tone that seemed to tease her own daughter as she spoke.

Kahala looked at her with a troubled smile on her face and a look that said that she needed to tell her something. Her mother responded in a really dramatic tone and said, "Don't tell me you aren't that V-Thing anymore."

"Shut up mom! I am still a virgin! It's just that a friend is coming over!" Replied Kahala with a look that said she couldn't believe what her mother just said. Her mother said, "I was just kidding! It was so that you spoke out without wasting another moment." And gave out a triumphant smile.

Kahala looked at her mom and said, "Not funny! Not funny at all!" "Is he a new guy you're dating?" Asked her mom. "No, just for the school work. He joined in last week." She replied. "The session started 3 months prior. Did it not?" Asked her mother.

Kahala narrated the chain of events to her mother as she remembered it. And at the end of the narration her mother was filled with sorrow but both of them started laughing, Kahala and her mother both laughed at how silly that boy was all while cleaning the room. "Is he my future son-in-law?" Asked her mother. "Too early to say anything. Even if I do love him, there's no certainty he feels the same way." Kahala said, letting out a sound of frustration. "You've turned out to be a fine human being and I'm proud of you." Said her mom and told her to get things done quickly, so that he did not think of her as klutz. As soon as they both were done with the cleaning, Kahala went to get herself cleaned and started to dress up. A light pink dress, just above her knees flaunted her body perfectly, her blue yes looking in the mirror as she gently brushed her hair.

"I suggest you wear a bit more casual outfit. I mean he's visiting our place, it's not a date." Said her mom looking at her and continued, "My my you're looking like an angel, even Tom Cruise would fall for you."

"Thank you mom, both for the compliment and the suggestion. I should get changed I guess." Replied Kahala, her mom picked out an outfit for her, "Here you go." She said. She quickly got changed and started to wait for him, who'd be there any moment now. The scheduled arrival was 15 minutes away, but she was too excited to wait for another quarter of an hour.

Finally it was time and she heard a doorbell, she went on to open the door but it wasn't Amas. "A package for you beautiful child." Said the old man on the door and asked Kahala to sign the receiving. She was kind of dejected but decided to wait for another 5 minutes, after that another 5 and another 5. But he wasn't coming for god knows what reason, suddenly a thought struck her if he was okay. She started to feel a bit scared for him and looked at her mom, with eyes that demanded to be pacified. Her mom said, "Don't worry honey. Boys are always late, he's probably getting up right now, have patience. The worst case scenario would be he forgot."

"I sure hope so.... " Replied Kahala and smiled and retreating to her room so that she didn't seem desperate to her mom.

She grabbed a manga from the shelf, one that she recently bought. It was because of Amas who was always talking about how cool manga and anime were she had started to read and watch them respectively. And it would not be an exaggeration to say that now she was hooked to them. They had a special appeal to them, they had worlds which you'd want to live in and lives you'd want to have. As she read the newest manga she bought, the one by Naoshi Arakawa she thought it was a masterpiece. It was called 'SHIGATSU WA KIMI NO USO' even though she had read it twice it still got her everytime in her feelings and it was mandatory for her to cry after reading it. She loved the anime adaptation too, and by far it was her favourite. She wanted to be Kaori but felt like Tsubaki in his life, his best friend but just best friend. She didn't think she'd ever grow out of that zone and she was so caught up thinking about her and Amas that she forgot that he was almost an hour late.

She stood up with her hair almost flying for a moment and said, "Mom I'm gonna go and get his ass here! It's his work not mine!"

"Don't be too hard on him!" said her mother with a giggle and off she went through the door with anger in her eyes as well as hope that he'd be okay. She walked to his place from where Avyanna had just left 15 minutes prior to her arrival and he was still mesmerised by her beauty and also the fact that they had prepared too much of the pizza, as soon as he realised he was late he called Kahala's cell only to realise she was at the door. She was really feeling good after knowing that he was alright but kept a poker face as she told him to be at her place in 15 minutes after she left. Amas agreed, at that moment all Kahala could think of was how good he looked with those messy hair and flour spread all over him. She then suddenly realised he could have been working and started to repent on her decision.

She started to curse herself in the most adorable way one ever could.
