A New Day

Violet woke up as she felt a tickle of pink cherry blossom petal on her nose.

She slowly opened her eyes as the curtains filtered the sun's rays so as not to harm her eyes.

A brisk breeze complimented the sunlight

and the dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in.

Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations.

And new battles to fight.

'What a great morning!' , Violet thought.

She looked over to her bed and saw that the Emperor had left.

'A even greater morning than a moment ago.'

"Lillian , come in."

" How may I help you , Your Majesty?"

" Draw me a bath.

Prepare a suitable dress for the morning Court.

Make sure my breakfast is ready by the time I'm done bathing.

And please tell the maids to change the bedsheet and pillow covers." Violet asked Lillian who stood with her head slightly bowed in front of her .

"Yes , Your Majesty."

"Thank you , Lillian."

"And , inform Xander of my morning schedule."

" Yes , Your Majesty."

Violet had Earl Grey Tea with cucumber sandwiches and lemon cakes for breakfast.

Violet loved the citrusy flavour of Earl Grey Tea.

The bergamot oil in this tea is said to boost your immunity and provide energy.

It also aids with digestion .

"Your Majesty , I've selected three dresses which seemed appropriate for the morning Court.

Which one would you prefer?"

"The one on the left."

Violet chose a violet embroidered gown .

The ethnic chain stitch embroidered work within the clothing added a sign of magnificence with a look.

She got up from the couch and discarded her robe.

"Lillian, It's time now.

Help me put it on."

"Yes , Your Majesty."

Lillian eagerly assisted the Empress.

She did an interwoven 3- strand braid which supplied the right amount of rustiness without messing up the feminine side of the Empress .

Violet spun round.

"Fasten me up.

Not too tight, though — I'll need to breathe .

I've got battles to win."

Violet took a deep breath as she spoke.

She knew that it wouldn't be easy today.

The court officials would give her the respect she deserved as the Empress and the daughter of Duke Vanidestine but that did not mean that they truly revered the woman Violet Rossaria Vanidestine.

Violet did not know if they would take her words as serious as they would to the Emperor.

It was highly unlikely.

"Is it dangerous , Your Majesty?"

"Dangerous , no. But bothersome. "

"So, how do I look?"

"Powerful , Your Majesty."

"Shall I summon , Sir Xander?"

"No , that won't be necessary.

I shall meet him at the door. "

"Your Majesty , the Emperor left a message that he would be waiting at the entrance of the Courtroom." , Lillian reported the moment Violet was about to leave the room.

" Hmm. Thank you , Lillian .

Shall we depart then?"
