I'm Not

The stench of blood was fresh in the room, so was the sound of crying and screaming. His question was a good one and my response wasn't sufficient... yes... how could I be ready for that.

"Monster!" Her eyes were fresh with tears and her freckled cheeks were flush.

"Why... what did we ever do to you..!?" She walked closer, she seemed relatively unharmed, all her armor was intact.

"I... I'm sorry..." I said staring into her trebling eyes.

"Sorry!... Is that all you can say!" She reached for me, but I stepped back.

Tripping on nothing but herself, she fell. As she did I saw it. A gash...hole... they were one in the same. I saw white pink and red... crimson red. Even her bones were on full display, her vertebrae, all its intricate locks, notches and bumps were visible... for a while. In time, the crimson flooded the wound, leaving nothing but a pool... one that in time became a waterfall that gushed from the ridge of her cleaved flesh.
