The Floor Is Lava

As we all patiently awaited her screams from above to pierce the earsplitting silence, they never came. This made sense though as we were one floor down, but still. There was nothing to confirm that she was alive, and no real reason to cross the floor, all we had been told, seemed void. We had a time limit, but no one seemed to care, they didn't want to cross. Yet still, they were nervous, they didn't want to fail such a simple test. Their prides were on the line.

"You said you were paying attention right... to where he walked?" He stooped, admiring the floor.

"Yes?"

"Well, I don't think we'll need that information... look." He said waving me to his side.

I walked closer, stooping to his level, as I looked at the floors I could almost see something, but it wasn't clear. As I continued to focus, I could see clearer by the second. Paying attention to my body, I could feel it, the blood red mana pooling in my eyes.

"Do you see it?" He asked caressing the floor.
