It Begins

As the darkness got closer, the pain intensified, so much so that I almost lost consciousness. The moment it reached me though, I absorbed it into my forehead. I felt as if I was being branded by a hot iron. The pain didn't last long though, and as soon as it began to settle, I stumbled over to my clothes near the bed. Searching my pockets, I found my phone. Opening the camera, I could see a black symbol that was basically a carbon copy of the pendant on my forehead. It soon faded away into my skin though, the pain leaving as well.

Looking back at the pendant, I didn't want to get back near it. Though as I focused on it, I felt a connection between us, like it was calling me, as if a string connected us, infinite and indestructible. The thing soon began to vibrate as if being shook, and then on its own. It flew over towards me. I had no choice but to catch it to avoid a blow to the face. Looking at it, it had adopted my skin tone. Looking for any other changes the eye opened.
