Freezing Beauty's Warmth

My feet would soon touch the sandy floors of the place, finding a home beneath it, and looking up, I had gone deeper than I had realized. It may have been the darkness that fooled me, or it may have been my physical prowess, but it didn't matter. Looking up, it was apparent I had sunk many a story beneath the deadly water's surface. I was comfortable though, I felt safe, as if the world couldn't reach me in my own pocket of cold escape. I wasn't there to reminisce on the surface though, I was there to admire the indigenous life.
