Chapter fifteen

Narrator's POV

"Malik called. The weapons just arrived" Kelvin informs Ethan while taking the sit next to him.

"And the money?" The Don asks

" Said he's going to wire the money when he confirms the goods" The Don gets up from where he had earlier sat on.

"Have we ever sold to him any fake goods?" He asks and place his hands in his pants pockets.

"I need you to let him know that if I do not see my money before the day breaks, I need not speak any further" Ethan directs and head back to his chair, crossing his legs. Kelvin gets up needing no further explanation, he proceeds to put a call across to one of their best weapon buyer in Africa.

"The both of you never get separated"Andrea addresses his elder brother while pointing to the bottle of vodka next to him. Ethan rolls his eyes at his comment. He loves his alcohol, and he is proud of it.

"Where were you?" Ethan asks.

"Somewhere. That's not why I am here."

"Any news?" The Don asks uncrossing his legs.

"Dante is at it again. Requesting if you would like new set of girls to run your bar, clubs and hotels" Hearing that, Ethan relaxes while going into a deep thought.

"And once again, my answer is no. Remind him that I do not take part in human trafficking except in cases of assholes who betrays me. In that case, when I see a defaulter amongst my men, I will let him know".

"So he hasn't quitted his trafficking chain?" Kelvin asks as he steps back into the room.

"At all" The Don says.

"He never gets tired of trafficking girls. His preferred type of girls are those from the East"Luca who has been in the room all along finally speaks.

"The most infuriating of it all is that most of them are minors" Andrea says

"Don't you think it's high time he is taught a lesson" Kelvin asks Ethan.

"you're right" Andrea backs Kelvin idea up.

"I can't believe there was a time we also trafficked women" Andrea frowns

"Well your sweet Kelvin ensured we quitted. Your mother was sold into a prostitution ring right?" Luca replies Andrea while addressing the latter to Kelvin.

"Shut up" Ethan orders and Luca mutters something like an apology.

"Kelvin you should fly to the states and burst Dante's chain once and for all. You know the right cops to call. Let him also experience what it feels like to be in a cell".

"Alright"

"What are you still waiting for?" Ethan questions Kelvin surprised to see him still sitting after being given an assignment.

"You mean immediately?" Kelvin asks

"Of course immediately. Andrea can go with you" The Don says.

"isn't that sweet? you guys can get a little bonding time together" Luca taunts.

"Do you ever shut your mouth. You are just so unserious?."Andrea fires at him.

"Let's see whose mouth is going to be opened when you are all alone with Kelvin" Luca retorts earning him a glare from the men in the room. Andrea gets up, without sparing his twin brother a glance, he walks out of the room with Kelvin.

"Did I say something wrong?" Luca questions the Don who was already on his feet. The Don ignores his question and places his phone on his ear.

"No further delay" He says to the caller and walks out of the room leaving Luca standing there like an idiot.

"Am I really an unserious minded person?" Luca asks Anna his girlfriend.They were together in their bedroom.She grins at him and pulls at his cheeks making him wince.

"of course you are a serious minded person" Anna says giggling.

"What's funny?"Luca asks feigning anger.

"The only thing you are really serious about is our relationship. Anything apart from this is a matter of joke to you" She says and pats his back and they both burst out laughing very hard.

"But seriously, I want out. I am tired of this life" Luca says with all seriousness

"I know right" Anna places his hands in hers.

"Mother didn't want this"

"Your dad knew that and that was why he built this company so that at least he can boast he has one legal business"

"But still, having one legal business among many other illegal deal doesn't change anything" Luca argues.

"Well, your brother is trying. Look he even wants to expose a human trafficking chain, remember there was a time he was also into it, but now he knows what is right. With time all these illegal deals will be things of the past"

"Doesn't make him less of a crime boss".

"Well he might be a crime boss but guess what? you are not"

"It's so easy for you to say, it is not you who has to continue a family legacy."

"If you quit, Francesco will kill you for real" Anna warns Luca who has his eyes fixated on her.

"He can't choose my life for me. " Anna scoffs at his reply "you and I both knows he calls the shots "

Luca gets up from the bed and pecks Anna "I have somewhere to be" he turns to leave.

"you should really talk to Ethan."Anna calls after him, he turns around but only blows her a kiss and proceeded out.
