The twins sat opposite from each other, just staring vaguely at grass, they were under the big tree on the hill not far from the packs house. They didn't know what to say, seeing their mate in that condition had them hollow in their heads but filled with something in their body, they felt guilt. They had turned eighteen last night at the strike of twelve, it was their birthday today, they were finally old enough to get their mate. A party was suppose to be happening at this moment but the boys couldn't go through with it.
They were at the fairies house earlier to discuss some new propositions but, they were so anxious because of a sweet familiar sent, it was too intoxicating.
Their dad has been awfully quiet about the whole incident and that worries them so much, to the point that they can't look him in the eye. Their heads perk up at the sound of leaves crunching, they look to their mother approaching them, they huddle next to her as she sat in between the two of them. The crickets chirped as the silence grew thick, no one knew what to say or rather they didn't know how to say it.
Their mother sighs and utters softly " Um your dad told me what happened...… so is the fairies son is your mate" . No one said anything after they remembered the look of horror that spread across his face when they tried to touch him, she looked at Tom he just shook his head yes, his mind still holding the memory of the blood running down the pale thighs of the small boy, smearing his small chest. She looks at her other son and he just had tears running down his cheeks, stretching forth her arms she cups his cheeks and brings his eyes to look at her.
" We caused this...…we hurt him" he told her with more tears pouring from his eyes. " No no sweetie, its not your fault" she told him, " We did" Tom replies..." for years we've bullied him, tortured him,...…. we helped to break him mom.... we did this" he said as he started to cry as well. Their mother just pulls both of them into a hug.
As they cried on her shoulder she thought that she would never had to see her sons cry, they were so strong not just physically but mentally as well as emotionally, they didn't cry like this even when their grand mom died. " Shh ….. its gonna be ok, we'll help you save what's left of him" their mom said. " No one can be broken then repaired, make sure you help him to trust you" was all she said and the last thing they had spoken. The rest of the moment the hugged each other and stayed silent.
The next morning their dad calls them into his office to discuss the matter, " so he's your mate?", " yes dad" Axel replies as his brother shook his head yes, " both of you?" he questions again " yes father" they said in unison. "So well then what's the plan, how are you going to get him to trust you" they both look at each other and replied with silence, as it was all they could say as of recently.
Laying in their own beds in their own rooms, they tossed and turned, beads of sweat rolls off of their head and body. As if twin telepathy proven true, they both were trapped in the same dream. They watch as Allen bent over on his knees and palms, grabbing fistfuls of grass, he hunches his back as his skin tears away. Blood usher its way out, two little points started to poke out of his back.
They want to leap forward to comfort him, their body craved to but they were frozen in one place, frozen and left to watch as their mate suffer. Their breathing hitched and heart beat was eradicating, the two points gently push its way, but then started to grow at an alarming rate. Blood drenched feathers splats on the ground, they now stare in amazement at the gorgeous wings that were larger than the bearer.
As if on someone's command the twins were able to move again. They took one step forward as something latches itself to the small boys foot and drag him away.
They both shot up, their bare torso heaving, the open curtains painted their room, illuminating their faces. This dream it felt so real to them, they were terrified. Mind linking with each other they ask another if they had the same dream. " I feel so scared " Tom said " me too" Alex said.
" Wait I'm coming over to your room" Tom said. Shifting himself off his bed and off he walks to his brother's room.
His eyes flicker open as does the light above him, his eyes burn with every blink. He lets out a mournful grunt as his body feels heavy and numb, 'at least I don't feel in pain.' His eyes getting used to the dim light, he lets them wonder as he becomes more observant of his surroundings, 'Back in the basement, classic but normal, haven't been here for a while though'. The air was damp and cold, so was the bare concrete floor against his thin briefs.
His eyes continue to wonder as he lays them below at his blood bathed body, he shutters on seeing the silver shackles but freeze at the sight of the giant pair of dark red stained wings sprawled on either side of his tiny frame. 'Are these mine' he thought ' Well of course you dim withed moron, who else has the giant thigs coming out of them' … 'Not now brain, I'm freaking out'.
His mind garters theories of how this can even be possible on this merciless world. His heart thumps in his chest, his breath hitches, it was too much for his frail mental stability. He slips over into the warm beckoning of the darkness as he hears his mother's excited shrieks.
