No More Crazy Dream

"Monique's fixing our breakfast, so come down if you're ready."

I nod my head. "Thanks. I'll just go and take a shower first."

I cross the hallway and enter my room. I noticed that my bag was already on top of my bed.

I open my laptop and signed in to my Facebook account before I went to the bathroom for a shower.

My back was stiff from sleeping. But it was fun, I still remembered everything that happened last night. Me being scared, her confessing about her fiancé. But the part I like the most is when I held her in my arms. If only I can stop the time and make her mine. My heart is racing fast when I think about it.

I shaved my mustache and combed my hair. I put on a fresh jersey and a walking short and scan my Facebook after.

As usual, there are many messages from my beloved fans. I updated my status on my fan page and took a photo of me and uploaded it too.

"What a night!" I put it on as a caption. Then logged out. I went down to the dining area, Ralph and Monique were already eating.

"Have breakfast." Said Monique beaming. "So what happened?" She added immediately. I took my seat beside Ralph and reach for the toast.

"Nothing, we just talked all night." Then I took a bite.

"About what?" She asked impatiently.

"Things," I answered chewing my toast.

"Adam. Details!!!" She urged me.

I laughed. "Well, we just talk about ourselves, about her, our interests. That all." She waited. "Really, nothing happened."

"Damn." Then she continued eating.

"So are we all set for tomorrow?" Ralph asked me.

"Sure, but I need to see mom today and spend some time with her. Is it ok with you guys?"

"Sure, Adam."

After we had breakfast, I went upstairs and took my car keys from my room. I cross the hall to peak at Raine's room but she is still sleeping.

"I'll come back later," I said to myself.

Monique help me back up Raine's car, so I can get my car and drove off. It was a sunny morning with a light breeze. Birds were chirping everywhere. People were already on their lawns, sweeping fallen leaves.

As always mom is tending her orchids in the garden. "Hi, mom." I kissed and hugged her.

"How are you my son?" She asked smiling at me.

"Fine. Mom, is Sheena there?"

"Yes, she's in the kitchen. Have you eaten already?"

"Yes. Monique prepared breakfast for us."

I ran inside the house, calling Sheena's name. She emerges from the kitchen with soap bubbles in her hands.

"What! Adam! What happened?" Panic in her voice.

"I've already found her. That girl from my dream. She's real Sheena." I said excitedly and throw my bag on the sofa.

"Look." I showed her Raine's photo while she's sleeping in the closet. It was bad quality but still, you can see her face.

"She's pretty." Sheena declared.

"Yes. And she's a very good person too."

I looked at the picture. It's just 15 minutes since I left Ralph's house but I missed her already.

Sheena's washing the dishes.

"Lucky you met her already. No more crazy dreams ok."

I laughed. "Yes, yes. The dreams are no more, Sheena."

"So, how did you met? Hm?"

"Uh. Well. I already told you that they had invited me to come with them right? So, Monique and her arrived yesterday. And I opened the door for them cause Ralph was cooking. And then, when I saw her. Uhm. My finger caught on the doorframe and she kinda helps me with it."

Sheena laughed out loud. "Adam! You're so stupid!"

I laughed. "I know! I know! It was embarrassing! But because of that, I.. I met her."

Sheena smiled. "I'm happy for you cousin."

"Thanks, Sheena. I'm happy too that I met her already."

"Tell me how is she?"

"She's nice and fun to be with. She's.. a real beauty."

Sheena's looking at me with relief on her face.

"What?" I suddenly feel conscious.

"Nah. I'm just happy."

"Thanks." I smiled.

We talked about Raine more leaving the fiancé details as she continued to wash the dishes.

I spend some quality time with them. Mom cooked my favorite dish, beefsteak for lunch. At 4 o'clock, after we had a snack, they helped me pack for the trip tomorrow. Then before dinner, I went back to Ralph's.

Monique and Raine were at the grocery store when I returned. Ralph's in the driveway checking the van that we will use for tomorrow's trip.

"Hey man." I greeted him as I enter the garage.

"Adam! How's auntie and Sheena?" Wiping his hands with a cloth.

"They're fine. They said hi to you."

"Thanks." He smiled at me. "And oh before I forgot! Mom and dad are on their way home too, I'll be fetching them at the airport after I'm done with checking this van. Monique's going to cook for us tonight."

"Uh-huh, sounds good though," I answered. I was toying a screwdriver in my hand and went to sit on the van.

"You like Raine man?" Ralph asked suddenly. I was expecting to see his wicked smile, but when I looked at him, he's serious.

"Wait. What?" I looked confused.

"Look," He started. "Raine is like a sister to me. And she's going through a difficult situation right now."

I'm thinking that he was talking about her arranged marriage with Arthur. I didn't know he knew about it.

"I know you like her." He said. I was about to speak but he cut me off.

"I know you. We've been friends for a long time now Adam. I know that you might chicken out too. But I see the way you look at her. You do like him, man."

"Wait. Ralph. Why are you saying this to me?" I am so confused right now.

He hesitated. "She's.. on an arranged marriage. And according to Monique her fiance sometimes hurt her."

"What?"

He nodded. "I have seen it before. There were bruises on her arm when she visited here during Christmas Vacation."

"Wait. What does her parents do?!"

"I don't know man. But it seems like, her parents doesn't know about it. And she's afraid to tell them what is happening."

My blood starts to boil. Her parents agree to this madness and their daughter is paying for it? What the hell is wrong with them?

"Ralph, do you think we need to tell the police about this?"

"Well she tried, but Arthur got her first before she can go to the police."

"Man." My heart is beating fast.

"I know Adam. She's like a sister to me. And that's why I am so concern with her safety."

I nodded.

"Don't worry man," I answered him. "I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe."
