Help a Friend

"Lobby huh? Is this the lobby?" shouted Monique.

We both looked back to see Monique walking towards us. Two girls are following her with Ralph at the far back.

"Why are you angry?" Raine asked with a smirk.

Their two friends suddenly froze on their tracks.

"Adam Cross, these two here are your biggest fan." She introduce them to me. The skinny girl, with a short hair is Tina, and the chubby one is Kim.

"Hi." I said, and all of a sudden, they screamed, jump and giggled. Everybody looked at us. I pushed down my cap further down my face.

"Hey guys, I'm trying to hide here. Please? Please stop." I beg.

Raine's controlling her laughter. While Ralph and Monique's shaking in laughter. But they still won't quit screaming.

"Please. Monique! Stop them." I beg.

"Ok, ok!" She's still recovering from laughing. "Stop it guys."

But instead of stopping, they started hugging me. My glasses fall in the sand, and Raine picked them. They were shaking and hugging me.

"Girls, girls. Wait! Can't... Breathe.."

Raine stops them, "Tina, Kim. Stop it guys! You're hurting Adam."

They backed away slowly but still giggling.

"Oh my God! I mean, I thought Monique's just joking at us. But, you are really here. OMG!" Tina said breathlessly.

"My God Adam! I love you!" Kim said. She was trying to hug me again but I hurriedly docked behind Raine.

"No. No. Please. People were staring at us. And please don't shout my name."

"Guys, guys. Relax." Raine said shielding me from Kim who was trying to crush me again.

"Sorry. We're just excited. Adam, Oh my God Adam!"

"Break it up guys," Ralph said as he sat right next to me. "Adam!"

He pulled me up and put an arm around my shoulder.

"Where to my friend?" He asked me.

I sit upright and took off my hat. "Anywhere." To my surprise, Raine arranged my hair. I just stare at her.

"Let me do that." Tina offered.

"No, it's alright. I can do it myself, thanks." I said jumping on my feet. Then disarrange my hair.

"Let's take a swim in the pool. Sun's too high, we might get sunburn if we try the beach." Tina suggested.

We returned to our rooms to change into our swimming suit. Ralph and I change to T-shirts and summer shorts, while the ladies into their swim suit. I was stunned by Raine's beauty when she walked out of the shower room. She has the body of a model. She pony-tailed her hair and was walking gracefully with the three girls. In my point of view, she's walking slowly, like those moments in a movie. My jaw dropped as she approaches us.

"Adam," Monique called out my name then signaled me to close my mouth. I immediately close it then Ralph laughs at my expression, as well as the ladies.

The hotel hides the pool from the sun's heat, and cool wind sweeping on us. They immediately got in the pool. Ralph took off his shirt before diving. I just sat on the edge.

Tina and Monique got out of the pool. I just thought that they were going somewhere, but instead, they pushed me into the pool. They were all laughing when I emerge from the water, I took off my shirt and throw it on the edge of the pool. Thank goodness for Ana who convinces me to go to the gym at least 3x a week. I have a very toned muscle and visible abs.

Now it's my turn to take revenge, Tina and Monique were already in the pool. I splashed them with water and they were all backing away. Then 5 against 1, they all splashed water to me and I can't even face them because of the water. We were enjoying every moment with each other, and I am very happy that Raine seems to forget about her problems.

Monique and Kim were good swimmers so they race. Kim won against Raine and Tina, while Ralph defeated me. I am not a sports buff myself, but I just join them so as not to spoil the moment.

We really got hungry so after we changed our clothes, we decided to eat first before we explore the whole place.

They have this seafood restaurant. The ambiance of the place is very festive with different native masks hanging on the walls. The seats and tables were made of woods. There were only a few people inside so I am comfortable enough.

We ordered grilled fish, steamed shells, battered lobster, and coconut juice.

After eating, we stayed on the benches for a while. Still stuff with our lunch, we started to plan our next activity.

"Hey guys, I heard that there's always a beach party here after sunset. I guess it will be fun if we come." Kim said.

"That's fun," Tina said simply.

"My, my. My diet's ruined because of that restaurant! How come their food's very delicious!" Protested Monique.

"Diet? Really?" Ralph teased.

"Shut up Ralph!"

"So Adam. You coming later at the party?" Asked Kim.

"Maybe. I don't know." I shrugged, I'm not up to any parties right now. I just want to stay here at the bench and start sketching.

"Want do you want to do?" Tina asked.

"Sketch."

"You draw?"

"Yes. Didn't I include that in my online resume?" I chuckled.

"No. I know your profile by heart Adam. Your birthday's on June 26, and your favorite color is blue." Tina recited.

"Favorite food beef steak, favorite musician Toto and Stevie Wonder. Your favorite pastime is eating, reading books, and writing songs." Added Kim.

"Wow! You really are my biggest fans." I said, amazed.

Raine chuckled. I looked at her and she's looking into the ocean. I wish I know what she's thinking right now. Her face's shining because of her smile.

"Well, I guess we just have to hang out here while we're still full." Ralph declared. We sat there for almost an hour, making fun of everything that caught our eyes.

When we got tired of sitting, the girls decided to shop while Ralph and I headed to our room. We agreed to just watch tv while we waited for the girls. But instead, we reminisce about our high school memories.

"You are so shy when it comes to girls." He said laughing.

"That's not a laughing matter man. I mean, I haven't found her yet."

"But now you do."

"Hey." I was surprised by his remarks.

"I told you. I know it when you like a girl." Still looking on the TV.

"Do you think she might like me? I mean, just being me and not being a famous singer?" I asked while scratching my head.

"How would you know if you're not doing anything. And besides, Raine's a good person, she might like you whoever you are."

It might be. Unlike Tina and Kim, Raine's not that loud when she met me. And the way she looks and treats me, for her, I was just an ordinary guy. Well, that's a plus for me.

"How will I court her!?" I asked desperately.

He looked at me and wriggle his eyebrows. "Well, you've asked the right person, my friend."

I laughed at his face but I trust Ralph when it comes to this matter.

He gives me advice on how to please a girl and I keep that all in my mind. After an hour, the girls barge into our room. They want to hang out with us so we just let them. They bought junk foods and they chose a movie to watch. The 4 girls sat on the floor (I had fought with Tina and Kim to let them sit on the couch but they insisted) while Ralph's on the sofa and I am lying on the couch. I feel so tired, so I fell asleep the moment the movie started.
