The Shadows Arise

Unknown.

He sights before he speaks.

“You know very well that I can't do that. I would find a way to make you react, since we know that preventing you from sleeping is impossible, after a while you end up giving in, it is inevitable.”

“It's all because of the wear and tear of the mortal realm, if I managed to consume enough human life essence I could regain my strength.”

”We can not leave here, you know we would be detected in an instant. We would put everything at risk, none of us can risk being subdued by the Celestials and much less by the Demons.”

I knew that very well, I had been contemplating everything from a distance for several millennia, their lives and their essence so close and yet so far away. Just a window away.

I sigh and nod, ending our conversation. He gives me a half smile and decides to leave, allowing me to go into my thoughts, which take me back to the beginning of all this without my being able to help it.
