Damn Mortals

Everette.

I don't feel comfortable telling this human everything that's going on, but I really don't see any other way to get her guidance. She lives in this place and I'm sure that if she recognizes me, she would recognize or remember having seen an outcast.

“You don't seem to trust me very much." she comments casually.

“You have just revealed to me that humans are pathetic by choice. I don't see what makes you any different.”

In fact I did, and she knew it very well. I noticed it when I saw the smile forming on her pink lips, she knew she wasn't like other humans.

“I stopped trying to be like everyone else a long time ago. What they know as "normal" is kind of boring. Of course when I was younger I…” I hear how her voice becomes more nostalgic, sadder, as if she was remembering something unpleasant. “I didn't take all this very well. I felt it was some kind of curse.”

“Curses are usually pleasant.” I say obvious.

She laughs.
