Chapter 3 Outside the game

Footsteps could be heard running down the hallway of Next Gen as the lead developer of their V.R. project rushed to the president's office " Sir we have a major problem." the lead developer Ian yelled as he burst into the room.

What now, thought Wendy, the president of Next Gen. She had been overseeing every aspect of the game and everything seemed okay on her end. " Please sit down before you collapse Ian and tell me what happened."

Ian looks sheepishly at Wendy before he explains that apparently they had allowed 10001 pods to be released and normally that wouldn't be a problem but the last one to log in had the pilot for second phase of rollout with different classes others didn't have access to yet. It would be almost impossible for him to level because a lot of the mechanics his class needed wouldnt be available until second phase begins.

" Well as a pro gamer let's see what hes got and see if he can do anything with that character. If not then just refund his money and get him another pod if he causes too much problems. Just don't initiate contact."

" Also see if you can get a couple of the mechanics for his class uploaded so its playable but not too overpowered." Wendy yelled as Ian left the building. She was going to have to watch that account closely.

Already players were already at lvl 4 and this guy was stuck on lvl 1 and she didn't want to ruin the reputation of the company on a glitch.

First off she was going to have to lower the xp needed for him to lvl. Normal characters needed only 100 xp to lvl while this special class needed 1000 and after that all classes doubled the amount of xp needed for each level.

Next she initiated special tree for the class to where Luckless would have to adapt his class. None needed to know they had screwed up.

Finally, she had to do this while he was logged out so he didn't know. And everything was going so smooth up til now.
