Chapter 60: What it means to be a King

~Tatsumi POV~

Hearing the news of Night Raid dealing with the Enthusiasts of the Capital I was completely surprised to see them do it when Leone asked me the other day.

I guess I missed some scum whoops.

But in the end, they have done some good get rid of them plus I won't get to deal with them that's good.

Currently, I'm in another meeting collecting info about the nobles and their bribing, and this time they learn their place to not try anything with me.

After the dead bodies of their assassins coming after my group and were all killed in the process by my group.

I have to say they do good work with the upgrades of the Goku Uniform Three Stars I gave them definitely helped out.

Their surprise to see me alive just baffles them as I was not someone who's that easy to take out.

But then again, I am really hard to kill.

Although for the past few days I have been developing quite well for myself.

Ever since I learned how to recreate the heart functions of the teigu Pumpkin I had the chance to use it on my own heart using my Authority and with my Tyrant ability of [Adaptation] I managed to produce the same attacks as Pumpkin.

And to my joy when I did that, I discovered very quickly that I can use spirit energy like for using it to harden my body, boost my attacks, and the best part even uses it on a wide range of an area.

In a sense, I just basically have the One Piece version of Haki but without the limitations to my body if I use Armament Emission.

I'm still trying to find a way how to use my new spirit energy that my new heart produces into new forms of attack like Haki from One Piece or straight up steal moves from Dragon Ball Z.

But I digress seeing that the meeting with these people is over.

That was when I heard the Group Chat started.

[Ding! Erza, Ruby, Toga, Ryuko, Echidna, and Satsuki has signed up for the chat!]

Ruby: Hey guys how…

Erza: Tatsumi what are you doing.

Tatsumi: Just leaving a very annoying meeting I was just about to leave.

Satsuki: I see…

Since the meeting with these trashes are done, I was inside the central capital of the palace as I was about to leave I happen to hear an interesting conversation happening at this moment seeing a familiar scene happening.

Opening a small crack from the door leading to a group of people in a line on two sides while the Emperor was discussing something to the man kneeling, "Domestic administrator Shoui you have criticized my policies and are charged with delaying government duties. Therefore, you are sentenced to dismemberment by rampaging bulls."

!!!

Wow!

But I wasn't the only one surprised, but the rest of the chat members also heard it as well.

Ruby: That kid… he isn't serious, is he…

Toga: Ruby I don't think he was…

Ryuko: No, he was actually serious what the fuck!

Erza: So, this is how your world government is Tatsumi and you were expected to deal with this madness.

Echidna: I see so this is how this world progress how idiotic to let these adults let this child be on a throne.

Satsuki: Truly despicable considering the context of the world that the Emperor doesn't know what he's doing is wrong without even questioning his goals.

Narrowing my eyes at this I sense that the rest of the people here are nervous but none so is the man kneeling in question as the Emperor continues his words as he says to Honest that fat pig, "That should do it, right minister?"

Next, I see Prime Minister Honest eat on his grub as he says to the Emperor, "Heh Heh Heh. Impressive you are a wise Ruler indeed, your majesty."

The Emperor makes a comment on what he was eating, "Meat again? You're always eating that?"

Honest then makes a disgusting reply to the Emperor as he says in an innocent tone, "Heh-Heh-Heh. Got to take advantage of it while it's still fresh. Buono Buono."

That was when I heard Shoui reply and plead to the Emperor about the corruption, "You're being fooled by the Minister, your Majesty!! Please lend an ear to the voices to the voices of the people!!!"

But I already knew his fate would be and it was pointless to see what happens next but…

That doesn't mean I'll allow it to happen plus the Empire still needs people like him around to keep the peace.

Glancing around I see that no one is going to say anything I deiced to let myself in as the Emperor and Honest were talking out loud till they noticed my presence.

Stepping up to the place I shot a glare to the Emperor as I gave him a chilling smile that made him flinch for unknown reasons.

But Honest knew this kind of smile before after all, it looks like he was reminded of someone.

Toga: Oh, shit just got real now!

Erza: Agree.

Ryuko: I wonder how he's going to get through this one though because whichever this goes it could be bad.

Ruby: Well let's just hope that Tatsumi knows what he's doing.

As they noticed my presence I see that the Emperor looks upset as he tries to command me, "Halt! Who goes there intruder and how dare you come into my throne room!"

Ignoring the child I go over to glance at Honest as I told him what I wanted, "Prime Minister Honest I would like to keep this man under me and in no way are you to refuse."

With that, the guards tried to attack me but grabbing both the weapons I simply carried them upholding their weapons, and flew them over to the walls making a noticeable crack on them forming a crater crushing their bones in the process.

"Boom!"

"Crack!"

As they heard the sounds the Emperor was getting nervous as I came closer to them as he kept on talking nonsense as I peacefully go over to them with a warning in my voice, "Child please leave this to the adults as I don't follow a whiny little bitch that holds no real power towards me got it?"

Silence…

Erza: !!!

Echidna: !!!

Ruby: !!!

Ryuko: !!!

Satsuki: !!!

Echidna: Damn! Does that kid need a sensu beam was that the right joke?

Not before long the Emperor got furious with me but not before I grabbed him by the shirt collar as I shot a glare towards him as I say to him with untold furry, "Listen here you damn ignorant brat no one is going to help you with the way you treat your subjects as toys since you aren't willing to listen to the people…"

Continuing on my path I released a high amount of willpower towards the group to have everyone bow to me like Conqueror Haki using the spirit energy to force them to their knees with my willpower.

"Thud."

"Thud."

"Thud."

One by one they soon started to kneel to me whether it was conscious or not they recognized me as a threat of power and Honest was shivering like a weakling before fainting.

Erza: What was that…

Toga: That… was Conqueror Haki…

Echidna: You are actually correct huh? Looking at my gospel I can say it is truly neat.

Ruby: So, does that mean Tatsumi qualifies to be a king then?

Ryuko: Your bet is good as mine Ruby but I want to see where does this goes through?

Satsuki: Agreed.

Wait I have Conqueror Haki now!!!

Nice.

I ignored the members for the moment as I saw the Emperor was shivering in fear in front of a true Emperor while he does die in the anime or manga…

I won't kill him but I will give him a piece of advice since he never felt such fear before it might be a good listen for him, "Tell you what you little brat I will never recognize you as an Emperor you want to know why?"

The child could only shake in fear but has enough courage to not argue with me shaking his head as I smirked a cruel grin to reply, "Because you have no real power nothing is stopping me from killing you now. Nothing is stopping the guards to save you. Not even your generals are here to help. Everything that you have ever had has been given to you with no real effort you have no real power of anything but a false title."

The child could only digest what I have said but not before I give him some words of advice as I drop him down still shaken up of how I could've killed him right here but not, "Young kid you are not a real A king... The king must be greedier than any other. He must laugh louder and rage harder. He must exemplify the extreme of all things, good and evil…"

As I kept on ranting about what I view of what a King is to the kid I see that he took some of my words as I kept going on, "What you lack is any free will to choose what you want or rather let someone dictate what you want that is not how a King or Emperor should live and you haven't even gotten the people to trust how pathetic you are."

Glaring harshly at the kid I see that he flinches at each word I say to him but it looks like he's starting to listen once I place him under a lot of pressure with my Conqueror Haki, "The inferiority you feel is actually the quality of a king. You may grumble a lot, but you know how small you are. And yet you still struggle to reach heights greater than you can imagine."

With that, I gave him a piece of my mind as the rest of the chat group members were left stun by my words.

Next, I hear the Emperor give the order to retract his earlier declaration to Shoui as he thinks for deep thoughts for the first time thinking what was right or wrong.

Leaving like this he asks me with a fearful tone, but I ignored him as he wasn't ready, he needs to earn it.

Although I was wondering why Budo hasn't made any actions yet seeing me near and was about to harm the Emperor but as soon as I left.

"Bzzt!"

That was when Budo appeared in front of me as he says to me in an uncaring voice, "Tell me young man what was your goal for treating the Emperor like that?"

I reply to the General with a blank voice as I gave him an honest reply, "Simple the Emperor needed a reality check and needed to know that he needs to make things better. I won't place my loyalty to someone so not fit to lead with cancer near him poisoning the Kingdom of the Empire 1000 years standing."

Budo just looks at me with a narrowed eyes as he says to me in a gruff tone, "Hmm… very well young man I can already tell that you were very strong that was why I didn't take any actions but I will do anything to protect his majesty."

Before he left I asked Budo another question in a curious voice, "Tell me something why do you let Honest get away with this?"

Next, he replies to me before he left out of my sight with a straight answer, "Because the rebels are more important than the corruption once they are gone I will deal with it personally."

Just like that, he was gone and that was a very disappointing answer.

Sigh…

Ruby: What kind of answer is that!

Ryuko: Yeah if he has the power why doesn't he deal with it himself!

Satsuki: I can agree but frankly his duty is to protect the Emperor far exceeds the concern of the people I can't help but think that is foolish of him.

Erza: I can agree with that what kind of man lets this problem go on if it only means to inflict more harm to the people.

Toga: Yeah that dumbass General is doing more harm than good!

Echidna: I can agree but it's not like he has a choice on the matter since they need Esdeath to defeat the rebels and losing a General early on would mean the defeat of the Empire if Budo lost.

Erza: Tatsumi was there a reason why you gave the Emperor words of advice to him?

Tatsumi: Easy I just don't want him to die. It would leave a bad taste in my mouth to let a kid die in front of people wanting his death for no reason but being a pawn this way he has a choice to let himself be a puppet or take up his own fate.

Toga: Quick question though did you rip those quotes off from RIder in Fate by chance?

Tatsumi: Who else would make such great quotes from the best king I know of?

Toga: Nice.

Tatsumi: Why thank you.

When I said that answer it seems that everyone agrees with me for that answer.

But if he still listens in to Honest then it was his own fault for falling for his corruption trap battle.

That was when we heard another mission appears.

[Ding! A new Request from the Group Chat!]
