I started to join the superiors in the mission for meals alongside my man which he wasn't too happy about; we still hadn't talked to each other properly since I woke up on the ship. But it didn't bother me, his work made him like that. I began to open up a little to them just to get a rise out of him; entertaining the men with my wit and stories from my jobs with other nobles. After a few days a few of them got comfortable enough to forget who I was and started flirting with me out of nowhere. Seon-Ho was finally beginning to loose his cool as he kept getting angry over and over again until Sung-Rok had to almost wrestle him away from the others "what the hell do you think you're doing! You're actually fighting with the people you spent years fighting to work alongside with over that lowborn girl?!" He had to choose his words carefully; the last time he insulted me he almost got a black eye. Seon-Ho didn't say anything, he couldn't, not to him anyways. He just shot us both a dark look before dragging me back to our room as soon as our meeting was over. He almost threw me onto the bed seething with anger. "What were you expecting when you brought a woman on board a ship full of men...without her consent" I glared at him before he could say anything. He tried to say something but Chun-Ae came in the room without even knocking and tried to offer her services to him but he was just staring at me with a stoic look on his face. She tried calling out to him a few times until got annoyed and barked at her, asking her who the hell she was.
That completely shut her up; she looked as if she had been slapped in the face a few times. Her eyes almost bulged out of her face before she started tearing up on the spot. I then walked over to him and embraced him in front of her but he was avoiding my gaze and he didn't hold me back for once. I acted like everything was fine between us and I even asked him if he was under stress from 'his private meetings'. That really set her off as she slammed the door behind us but he didn't even notice. He just rolled his eyes and tole me that they were to dock their ship tomorrow and the we were to be on land for no more than a week until we were to return home. I just rolled my eyes and got into bed while he angrily began to undress himself and join me. That's how we were, like children who never really grew up; even when we were angry and couldn't stand each other we still always ended up next to each other.
I sneaked out the room when he fell asleep to check up on Chun-Ae' I didn't have to look very far through, I found her drunk in the kitchen hiding behind the liquor barrel. I sat myself on the other side; not that it made much of a difference really, she must have heard me follow her. "I served him when he first came to his father's mansion, we were the only two children there of the same age. I found solace in him and I desperately hoped that he would find the same thing in me...but he rejected everything in his father's mansion, he wouldn't even look at me even though I fed him and helped to keep him warm. But after so many years and out of nowhere he started to regard yo has his saviour! He treats you like you are a light in his dark life not long after you found a reason to move in with him. Although you had no idea what he went through with his father, and he took take of you meticulously and treats you like the only woman in his world. But thank about it; I've been here for him the whole time trying to be someone he can lean on and the same for me in that horrible place, I needed him as well to protect me from his father's torment!" She was in tears by the end of it but what exactly was my blame? She was indeed in front of him almost every day but it was up to him if he wanted her comfort or not why is she taking out on me years later? "Why have you never spoken to him about this?' "That's because in his eyes he sees me as a servant trying to rise in station if I have him by my side, he told me when he got drunk one time at the mansion when you were there. H even saw though all of my schemes I had towards you and he called me...he called me self-server while raving about how there is only one person who looks after him was you!" At this point she had flown into a rage and concealed a dagger under her robes and started swinging at me randomly in her drunken state. She almost got me a few times but out of nowhere Seon-Ho grabbed her by the wrist and snatched it out of her hands before grabbing her by the hair full and dragging her to our room with one arm and me by the other. He interrogated her a few times but it was only when I came by his side that she started to drag me away from him, letting out Sung-Rok's name and rambling on about how he was right us.
Seon-Ho closed his eyes in disappointment and just sat on the bed in silence, it was a little sad to see but I couldn't say I had sympathy for his man who tried to break us up. I went about mentioning the other women that came with us and that set her off; revealing the superiors scheme of offering these spies to my man and he just snorted in reply. What he did to her then...well he took down her statement and tied her up in the corner of our room...and then dragged me into bed with him for her to watch...
The mission successful; not that I was a part of it. They only had to do a couple of visits to noble homes to gather support against Prince Bang-Won in the upcoming civil war he was hell-bent on starting in order to obtain the throne which Seon-Ho was working on giving it to the youngest prince, or all his efforts he had put in for the King would all come to naught so I didn't see much of him. But there were times where we were ambushed in the middle of the night by either thieves of traffickers. But I had to thank Chief Parks lessons as I was able to defend myself without too much damage. I was still upset with the whole situation of him taking me here without discussing it with me but as soon as we were on the ship going home the tensions were slowly easing between us.
